Somebody... anybody HELP!

I am currently at a standstill with my weight. I know that I am capable of losing more weight but I keep falling off the wagon here and there. What do I do to get back on track?

Hi bnice

Have you been tracking your food intake. I use my fitness pal and it really helps me track and reflect on what I am eating. I am only 5 weeks out so hopefully some vets can give you more insight as well.

Before I had my surgery, just two months ago, my psychiatrist suggested that I put notes around to remind me why I wanted to do this. My notes say things like "breathing" and "walking" and "pain". All three are considerably better and I hope will continue to improve.

What were your motivations to start? Remind yourself.

Also whenever I have a long-term goal, I forgive myself when I make a mistake and then make a list of the things I need to do to complete the task.

Good luck!

Tracking is a huge benefit. When I don't track, I lose track.

1. Honesty with yourself. Get on the scale and weigh.

2. Accountability. Put your ticker up here. Share a bit more of our weight journey here.

3. Find and use your resources. I assume you were under a doctor's care earlier. Make an appointment with the doctor and keep it. Return to your support group. (My surgeon told me that the people who are most successful long-term with WLS are those who stay connected to their doctor's program / nutritionist / exercise person / support group.

4. Focus on the future. The past is over and, frankly, it does not matter at all. Today matters. Tomorrow matters. Everybody's in the same boat on that front.

5. Give yourself a big hug for caring about yourself. Self-love is the best gift we can give ourselves.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
