Ever noticed before how many commercials run each day advertising food. Argggghhhhh. I know I will be faced with daily decisions on how to handle my food cravings, and I know the WLS is a tool to help me with that, but if anyone thinks this will be easy is dead wrong. HA!

Thank goodness for DVRs. I will tape my shows and fast forward through the commercials! Or better yet, get up and walk til the commercial is over!

I too thought it was just me, now being almost 20 days post op it has gotten better. It is really bad when you first come home and you're on Clear liquids. It just seems that there are more than before your surgery. Not to mention that you are recuperating and all you are doing is watching TV. Hang in there it gets better

I noticed the same thing. It seems like every other commercial is for pizza Hut or KFC. I just change the channel. Having said that. It did open my eyes to just how much of my hunger was head hunger, because I am anthying but hungry..... until those commercials come on. I also used to watch all those shows on the food Network. Those have made me hungry too. I will no longer watch that network. I might even remove the channel from my DirecTV guide choices.

People complain about how the marketing for beer and liquor are embellished and use sex to sell a product. Well those people must not be watching food ads. You don't need sex to sell burgers, despite what Carl's Jr. Believes.

My favorite food commercials are the KFC ones. Not one actor is obese. The young girls are so exited about lunch. It could be the opening scene in a bad movie. None of the food commercials show real people eating their food. No malnourished children or obese children. No one with an eating disorder. It's disappointing.

The only accurate food commercial I've ever seen was the one for Sub Way where people are taking bites of hamburgers ans breaking through hammocks, chairs, Water floats and snapping diving boards in half LOL.

I used to work in advertising. One of the accounts I worked on was McDonald's. Another was Bel Cheeses. And my agency also had the Corn Refiner's Association. Those "sugar is sugar" HFCS commercials we put out sure were embarrassing. I tend to notice advertising more, because I used to work in it (I miss it, its a very chill atmosphere unless you are client facing, which I was not).

Oddly, I love to watch the food network and PBS and watching cooking shows! It doesn't bother me to see food or see people cooking or eating. I feel the sleeve has been freeing in that I no longer have to worry about eating all teh foodz. I can just have a bite or two and be done.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
