You have to go through a period of supervised reducing your weight before surgery. This is to shrink the liver.

You probably will have to have a sleep study.

You probably will have a stress test.

You might have to have a scope of your throat and stomach.

These are just some of the things your insurance and your surgeon will require.

These are things you and the surgeon and nutritionist should have discussed.

I think it all depends on the surgeon. I did not have to do any type of weight reduction for my doctor. i had an upper gi and that was it. I was approved in less than 48 hours and then got my date :)

Surgeon and insurance will determine. Even in my orientation class there were a variety of timelines/requirements.
