What is your dream job?

Recommended Posts

I have always loved to write, but I've never really believed in my abilities. Low self-esteem has really held me back. I believe once I shed this weight and deal with the emotional issues that brought me to where I am today, I have a real shot at living my dreams. I want to be a successful published author, whose books sell all over the world. Then I would have an excuse to travel...for book-signings! LOL! I LOVE to travel too. :D

One becomes a writer by writing. You don't need to feel better to write. You just have to write. That's all. The more words, the better. You don't need to edit yet. Just write.

Write.

I think I would like to live more independently now. A more off the grid lifestyle where my needs are met naturally and more creatively. I'd like to learn to make furniture rather than trading my time for money to pay for furniture. If only they had a surgery that removed 75% of my student loan debt.

I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant. I did really well in collage and graduated with honors. When I went to extern, I fell in love with helping people more than ever. After graduation, I knew I would get a job right away. I went to several wonderful interviews. But No one ever called me back. During my last interview I had the interviewer tell me that I had all the qualifications for the job, that I would be great for the job, but my weight was an issue. That they wanted a thinner nurse to see their patients. As soon as I got out of her sight, I was in tears. (Can they really say that? Couldn't they come up with a different reason?) I know I am an awesome nurse. I love people. I love making people feel good. And most of all I have the knowledge to take care of people to make them feel better.

Maybe once I have my surgery, someone will hire the skinner me. Because I worked really hard and love what I am.

@@michellew1 wow... So sorry to hear that, the discrimination is crazy.

Don't give up though, someone could be normal and actually give you the job because you're qualified. I've been in the same boat, interview after interview and nothing.. I've always had in my head that it was the weight.

There's fat haters and there's people who respect other people no matter what they look like. I've seen many overweight women with great jobs, so it's possible! At the same time, if getting the job would motivate you to drop the weight, then use it!

If you lived off the grid no one could find you to collect your debt....go for it! Teehee. ;)

I can't believe they said that to you!!! That sounds like a discrimination case. Wow!

I want to be independently wealthy-maybe from the beautiful things I create or write. I want to turn that wealth into ways to genuinely help those less fortunate. A best seller author or a recognized artist but definitely do: but I want all of that money to be shared with others. Right now I make beautiful bookmarks that I give away or sell for $2.00. I don't see the independently wealthy part coming anytime soon from that but it does give me pleasure to create, and pleasure to give.

I have two published books and I want to publish more. Once I lose the weight, I hope to add original online content to my resume. In a year's time, I'd like to pitch a sitcom to a production company.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
