Wondering if my fill is too tight but willing to wait

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone. After 3 fills over about 5 1/2 months and NO feeling of restriction, I was ready for more. I called and they agreed to do a bit more several weeks before my next regularly scheduled appointment. I'm now at 7.5 cc in a 10 cc band. They asked me to do 48 hours of liquid which I did. I couldn't drink anything thicker than Water in the early part of the day but could manage broth and a thin Protein shake later on. The fill was done on Friday and it is now the following Tuesday. The band feels tightest in the morning. Eating much of anything causes real pain big time so I am going to go back to broth, plain Soups, etc. My bigger concern is that drinking Water too quickly is causing that same type of pain. That is concerning mostly because I spend a lot of time at the barn with a horse and am working like crazy in 90+ heat so drinking lots of fluids is important.

So...long story short...I've always heard that it takes about 2 weeks for the fill to 'settle' - any swelling to subside, etc. I am more than willing to wait that long and see how I am then, with the hope that eating a little more is acceptable. I really don't want to rush back in and get anything taken out.

Any advice or similar experience?

Wait a little bit more and best of luck on your journey.

MY last fill took 4-5 days to hit and then it got a little tighter over the next week. I'm good with that and I can drink as much and as fast as I want. You may need a small unfill(.25 cc) by weeks end if this continues?

Hi there, with my last fill I wondered if I was too tight. Rode it out a fee more days and I am fine now. I need to be able to eat certain things like dense Protein and broccoli, etc. -- don't want a too-tight band. If I had symptoms like nausea or reflux or starting to lean on sliders I would go have a little removed.

Thanks, everyone. If it doesn't seem to loosen up in a day or two, I'll call the doc. For now, I am liking the fact that I actually know it's there and will wait to see what it's like by the end of the week. Thanks so much for your feedback. :-)

I know you don't won't to get unfilled but it sounds as though you are too tight. I would get a little taken out. You should be back on solid foods now. Good luck.

Don't guzzle Water. You might be drinking it too fast. It happened to me. Yes, I threw up water. It just didn't have enough time to go down. I believe that might be why they suggest to stop drinking with straws.

You can swallow too much air with straws.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
