Yeab I would love that! I have no one to talk to about this that understands. And if I hear one more person tell me I'm taking the easy way out I may poke someone in the eyeball!

Well, today I started my Protein Shake diet. Drank a chocolate supreme shake from Unjury for Breakfast. I made it with almond milk and it tasted almost as good as chocolate ice cream. Of course, now that I've started this phase and am committed to it, all I can think about it food!

Wish me luck.

See you on the 20th at La Casitas on Central Ave. in Fridley.

Excellent! Getting some new folks to join us AND Marybeth's prepping for her surgery date - good news all the way around - and for a Monday... I'm very glad I went where I did for my surgery. I couldn't stand doing the liquid diet after the surgery so I can't even begin to believe that I would do well with it before! Had my 3 month follow-up today and they tell me I'm doing great. I was getting a little concerned because it doesn't seem to be coming off quite so readily now. But they tell me that I shouldn't be looking at the weight loss but rather the percent fat...and of course, then they couldn't tell me the percent because the scale didn't give them a reading! So then she had to go by the pounds lost and I'm doing great - the logic totally escapes me and if they can't tell me the percent fat, who could??? Is good though since the weight was never my issue, at least before the surgery. That I lost anything was good enough from my perspective.

Catch all who can attend on the 20th...at La Casita...5058 Central Avenue, whatever the heck the town is called, MN.

Would like to get a count estimate for Wednesday at 6pm if possible. We plan to meet at La Casitas in Fridley on Central Ave...just south of 694 on the east side of the road.

Please text me at 651-231-2465 with your RSVP.

I just want to make sure we have reservations for a large table if we need one.

Thank you! See you Wednesday!

Marybeth :)

Just checking...

Is anyone coming tomorrow night at 6?

Haven't gotten any texts or seen any replies to the message chain.

Thanks,
Marybeth

I know for me, we are planning for school and the timing is off. I think after school goes back in session and things settle down a bit would be better- say mid September?

Should we just wait until mid September? That's fine with me. I have not gotten any RSVPs.

Is a Saturday mid to late morning better for everyone? If we had a weekend morning, would more people be available so we have a good turnout?

I don't mind driving from the far eastern suburbs on a weekend, it's the mid week that makes it hard to get out to western suburbs and then home.

Who would be interested in "rain checking" this Wednesday's meeting and waiting until next month. I'm pretty flexible. If there are one or two people that want to meet tomorrow, I'll be there.

Thanks,
Marybeth

Okay, think we're going to have to cancel tomorrow evening. It seems that there's a lot going on right before school starts.

Want to try for the same time, same place on September 17 or is Maple Grove Olive Garden an easier spot for more to reach?

How about:

Saturday, September 20 at 1pm

Same place: La Casitas in Fridley on Central Ave.

Will this work for those further out of the metro area? Will this give you an opportunity to drive down? It would be great to get as many people involved as we can.

We originally selected Fridley because it is the center of the metro area, taking into account further-ring suburbs. I know that makes it hard for people who are further out, but I hope you guys can make the effort because your presence and your insights are so important.

Well I made it through and am finally on the other side of surgery. It's been a week and a day and I'm feeling pretty good , just sore, as if I had done 3000 sit ups. Did any one else feel this way? Just want to make sure this is something normal.

I cannot say enough good things about having it done in Tijuana. Amazing doctor, nurses, and other staff. Utmost in quality of care and level of medical facilities. Nothing fancy like you'd find at a hospital like Woowinds, but a nice and well run place nonetheless. I would recommend it to anyone who cannot get insurance coverage or who wants to get it done without the six months process of pre op appointments. With airfare, the entire cost was under $5000.

Since pre op diet began through today, I've lost 16 pounds, which is very encouraging.

Looking forward to seeing everyone later this month. Did we choose a Saturday? I can't remember.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
