Hi All!

I was sleeved March 10, 2014

Height 5'7

Post surgery I am down 34 pound ( this past week I have gained 3 pounds so that changes it to 31 pounds)

Feeling great no complications with exception of stalls and slow weight loss. Going to increase Water and track food better.

It would be great to hear where you are at. Please include the date of your surgery and what you have lost and any tips you have!

I was sleeved March 31st. I'm actually at my 3 month appointment as I type :) I'm down 60 total. 10 of which was from the 6 month insurance required diet before my surgery. I'm doing really well. I have drinkable yogurt with added Protein Powder in the mornings. I cannot stand the Protein Shakes anymore lol makes me gag at this point.

So tomorrow will be 15 weeks post-op. I started out at 241lbs the day before surgery and am now at 197. thus this far I havent really worked out on a regular basis other then mowing the lawn or taking the little to the park and zumba once a week. I got my treadmill set up last night so I will start jogging and eventually running. I need some help on how to get rid of the lower abdominal pooch. and making sure I dont have wings on my arms. My pant size was on the rise, I was wearing a 20-22. and a 1x or 2x shirt. I am now at 16-18 pant size and l-xl shirt. But slight problem I dont see it the change yet, will that feeling go away? I want to be able see that I have lost weight, others see it but I cant yet.

I am comfortable with the food I can no longer eat and drinks I cant drink. I feel like I have replaced my food addiction with a SF vanilla iceed coffee addiction (weigh in, bad or okay) I cant drink Water it hurts my stomach but I can drink flavored water, tea, iceed coffee and milk.. weird i know

Find a picture of you pre surgery and do a side by side with a current picture, that helped me a lot. Although there are still days when I look in the mirror and see no change.

My surgery was 3/21. Surgery weight was 251, current weight is 215, so I'm a slow loser too. Not too stressed about it though. I too am ready for the "tire" around the bottom half of my abdomen to be gone. The fact that my top half is shrinking faster than the bottom, just makes it more obvious to me.

I have the large arms, tire around belly and big legs... I know that I will need to have skin removed from each when said and done. Just have to keep working to get there...

My hair has been shedding badly starting a week ago...

We got ladies! Let's keep each other updated and continue progress updates.

I have read a lot of people have trouble with straight Water. It's like you have to change the balance of it with flavor. That is so strange.

We are our own worst critic! You have done awesome on the numbers. I wish I started measuring my body when I had the surgery. I am glad you clothing sizes have shrank.

I have the wings, they will need some cosmetic so I have set up the find me under me savings account lol.

I have been taking a full body picture every week and then I just scroll thru them and you can totally see the transformation. It really helps. I too have the ugly bottom tummy but nothing a good control top panty can't help :)

Hi guys! I was sleeved on 3-14-14 in Nashville. I'm 5'6. My starting weight was 325 (prob higher but never documented(. I lost 28 preop (just doing low carb, didn't have liquid diet). As of this morning, I've lost 76.8 pounds. So 50 since surgery. I track everything. I weigh every day. I work out only 3 times a week but hoping to increase that. I've hit many stalls. My hair fall out is BAD and I'm having terrible hot flashes at night (cold during the day). I feel fantastic otherwise. I eat no more than 50-60 carbs a day most days but then increase to 80 once or twice a week (berries, whole grain crackers). I get 60-80 Protein a day. I see a bigger drop when my protein is 80 but it's hard to get. I rarely ever drink shakes anymore. Had my 3 month labs yesterday but don't have results yet. Life is good. I get frustrated at how far I have to go still but I'm on track. Exercise helps me look less flabby (skin is bad too - I could fly into O'Hare with these arm wings I've developed. I'll definitely wish for a pot of gold to have plastics later on). A bit discouraging to know I'm not even half way to goal. But I've come a long way! I feel great though.

I was sleeved 3-25-14. At my last visit, I had lost 37 lbs. My scales at home lie to me and have told me I am the same weight I was 5 weeks ago. I have since tossed them to the side. LIES!! So I have no clue how much at this time. My wii states I am 3lbs less than what the doc told me.

I might check my weight with the wii tonight, just to see.

I am exercising more than I did before and even have a workout buddy. We take a rowing class together and are challenging the Manitou Springs Incline this weekend. I am far more active now than I was before. I am creating an active life and love it.

I was sleeved on 3/17/14 and have lost 55lbs! I feel wonderful!! I was able to pull clothes out of a suitcase of old clothes i either had never worn or literally grew out of them. It feels so good to have a defined waist again and not have a muffin top when I put on my jeans. My birthday is next month and I am hoping to loss another 10lbs by then.

I have been able to really retrain my brain when it comes to food. I pack my lunch with salad, fruit, cheese and crackers. And drink mostly Water. if i need a flavor boost i get a Mio and put in a few drops of that. I also have figured out a way to have a cheat meal every now and again. If i am craving a burger, I get a kids size and take the top bun off. A sausage biscuit...same thing, take the top layer off. It goes down well as long as i take my time and i don't feel like i am depriving myself of anything.

I still snack on chips and Cookies from time to time, but that is very limited as well. I usually can only eat a few chips or eat a couple of Cookies at a time, which is all I need to satisfy any craving.

It was hard to imagine in March that I would be here feeling this way and looking this way, but I am so glad I did the surgery. I still get sad from time to time when i can't chug Water after a workout, but I am getting over it!

I hope all my other March Sleevers are doing wonderful!

Hi all-I was sleeved on 3/3/14 and am down 71 pounds since my highest weight. I've never been happier!! I have so much more energy and self confidence! I have a lot of extra around my lower abdomen that I'm trying to work on. I don't have any plans for skin removal sugery because of how much it costs.

Hi everyone I was sleeved on 3/21. So far I am down about 52.8 lbs. I don't eat a lot of things still, every morning I have a yoghurt, lunch I try to have Soup, dinner I try to eat Protein. Though honestly I can only do a few bites here and there. I drink lots of Gatorade. I do try to work out every day at least 30 minutes. I am only back up to running about 1.5 miles. I wish I could eat a lot more foods. I have learned sugar is not my friend, roast beef makes me sick automatically, and being in the desert I love cold things, so sugar free popsicles are constant. Dr said I can try things but I am so afraid of getting sick. I have gotten sick 3 times in the last almost 4 months and it has not been fun! I would love to hear more of what people eat.

Good luck

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
