I don't know!! I'm in the same situation. Will I ever be okay to do a social thing again? We have a spirits and jazz fundraiser this Thursday and I'm still on liquids!! I'm terrified.

I think I did alright when I was just on liquids because I was too scared about pushing my limits to try any solid foods. Now that I'm eating fruits and veggies, toast, eggs, and fish I don't feel as scared about having a bite here and there which is what happened at the wineries.

It's such a common way to socialize (over food). I know I can change things on my end but i don't expect my friends to all change for me. They are aware and supportive but if they all want to one thing and i don't then i miss out on the socialization.

I hope someone here can share some advice. I think for now I'll avoid food-centered activities for a few weeks and then try it again.

well, our surgeon had me drive my husband (sleeve) to the ER where he'll get a ct scan, blood work and IV fluids. He's been there since 2pm. I don't know HOW he's going to drink all that contrast liquid they want him to drink in an hour and a half. Pretty much impossible. Should be interesting. Especially after they gave him Zofran and morphine (he is having pain in his lower intestines again. He has a history of diverticulitis). Dr says he's anemic but doesn't need a transfusion. I don't understand why he even sent him home from the hospital if his counts were showing he was anemic then too or at least scripted him Iron, which he didn't do, other than the Iron from the 2 chewable Flintstones we get every day.
Anyway, hopefully the ct scan shows everything is ok and if not then it's easily fixed so that my husband can start to feel better. He hasn't had one good day in 2 weeks since surgery.

As for me (rny), I've been cleared for pureed/mushy foods stage II! YAY!!!! First up is pureed tuna with a little bit of light mayo and a light sprinkle of dill. MMMMMmmmmmm!!!!! I was hoping pea Soup was ok but it's not on the approved list. :( Peas are high in sugar or something like that. I forget. boooooooo. lol Our list says no Soups, no juice, no rice, no puddings, no tortilla, no bread, and a bunch of other no's. :P Different than what I hear some people on here are allowed to have. So I will just have to make "soup" with the fresh veggies that are on my list and can make a fake banana pudding (just pureed pudding and maybe adding vanilla Protein powder).

Time to get inventive with my new foods!!! :)

It's 2:00 am time to get up and leave for the hospital. I am surprisingly calm. It's been a long 10 months preparation. Glad the day has finally arrived. See you all on the other side!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
