I'm on day 10 of a liquid pre-op diet..it's been better than I had feared but I'm still hungry. I swear this diet is eating away my brain cells! It's hard to concentrate!

My surgery is at 7 am tomorrow (June 3) and I'm both excited and nervous. I want to lose this weight once and for all, but it's still surgery and a big change to my relationship with food.

Good luck to all my fellow June bandsters! This time tomorrow I'll be banded!!

@@LoseIt4Ever you'll do great! i'm about 3 weeks post-op, so i was in your shoes only a few weeks ago. i'm SO happy with my decision. yes, its changed my relationship with food forever, but food and i had a very abusive relationship in the first place. you'll do great, keep a positive attitude and you can do whatever you want!

Hi there and congratulations! I feel like my relationship with food is healthier than it's ever been. I eat when I'm hungry and if I'm not hungry I don't eat. It's so simple, whereas before I had constant chatter in my head about whether or not I was on a diet, off a diet, about to go on a diet, etc. No more! The appetite monster is off of my back and now I can make good choices. I still really enjoy my food, just in smaller amounts at appropriate intervals. Before I ate so fast and I was always thinking about what would be next -- now I am in the moment when I'm eating and I'm able to really experience it fully. But when I'm not hungry I'm not obsessing about food. It's pretty much a miracle as far as I'm concerned! Best wishes to you for a fine day tomorrow. Don't forget to walk all you can.

@LoseIt4Ever, Yay, I'm so happy for you! Tomorrow is my big day, too! You will be in before me, my surgery time is at 2:00pm. I'm getting more nervous as the day goes, but I am not doubting my choice for one minute! Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you're doing. ;)

Thanks to all for thoughts and well wishes. My surgery went well and I was discharged late yesterday. I felt no hunger at all until today, but it doesn't feel like my old hunger pains. Maybe it's has, though! I'm on Clear liquids but moving to full liquids tomorrow.

Looking forward to being past the surgery recovery and making progress on weight loss!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
