Newbie looking for advice in Staten Island

Hi everyone

I am in the early stages of starting my journey to getting sleeved . I weigh 189 lbs and I am 5'1 tall . I have hyper tension and I have had gestational diabetes twice with my pregnancies . I have a cholesterol level of 270 at my last blood test . I am currently on meds for cholesterol and high blood pressure. I live in Staten Island and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a surgeon out here . I am also having a problem because my primary doctor does not believe in weight loss surgery and will not sign off on the 6 month supervised diet that is required by my insurance . I could sure use some advice . Thank you

Use google to find SI or Manhattan (if you want) surgeons. You can then research the ones that seem convenient for you and then make appointments for seminars or consultations with the doc or docs that appeal to you the most.

Once you select a surgeon, they can pretty much set you up with whatever else you need from there for the surgery and for your insurance, including a PCP for the supervised diet and etc. I am assuming you have already checked with your insurance provider to see if your policy covers bariatric surgery.

Welcome to the site and good luck to you! Let us know how things go. :)
