Gastric Sleeve to Gastric Bypass

Recommended Posts

Curious if anyone has had this. I have been suffering from terrible reflux. TERRIBLE! According to my surgeon my sleeve is riding up into my esophagus and causing the reflux. He says it can be fixed by doing a gastric bypass.

I am 18 months past surgery.

I had the band and revised to bypass earlier this month. U was going to have the sleeve, but doc recommended bypass cause it can help/cure acid reflex/Gerd. I read somewhere it has to so with the shape of the stomach the sleeve is made into, which plays a big roll in getting reflux. I am glad he steered me in this direction. :)

Did you have this problem before surgery? How long after surgery did it start?

I didn't have acid reflux before the surgery. I started on Prilosec after my surgery and could never get off of it. So they did scopes and test and this is what he found. The reflux has quite a bit pain with it.

Sorry you are experiencing it! Nothing to mess with. I have Barrett's now and that is precancerous cells from Gerd. TKe care of yourself.

I was originally supposed to have the sleeve, but last minute, doc advised to go bypass because of my history of reflux. I'm glad I dodged that bullet.

I hope this procedure does the trick. I'm sorry you're not yet 100%

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
