clean eating "milkshake"

Recommended Posts

I dont know the calorie content of this, but wow , is it good and taste rich !! 1 frozen banana, cut into pieces, 2 tsp honey, 1 Tbls cocoa, milk of your choice, coconut, 1%, almond milk, whatever you like, use 2 Tbls milk for ice cream consistency, or 1/2 cup milk for a thin milkshake. Blend all ingredients in a blender, pour into bowl or glass. Yuuuuummmmmmmm

You bully :P

I went to my local support group last night. I exited the hospital a different way and discovered they'd opened a brand new Dairy Queen/Orange Julius. Oh man, I wanted to pull in there so bad but I didn't.

Agreed on the Ice Cream/Kryptonite analogy :(

Recipe? Coconut what? Coconut flakes, real chunks?

Is this the one that's suppose to taste like a Wendy's Frosty? I read this somewhere and thought no way can this be good, but you're vouching aey:-) I may have to check this out. I saw if on Pinterest I think, and I belive it had the calories calculated. I will check it out and compare it to yours. Thanks for the tip. I'm all about trying to find a way to get a shake, that's good for you!!!

I think she means coconut milk, if that's the milk you choose.

I sub choc Protein powder for cocoa powder and put it in the freeze for awhile, prob the same taste, just a little more protein!

Yes, the recipe did call for coconut milk, ( I used the canned type) OR milk of your choice, and yes i did get it off Pinterest. I didnt think it tasted exactly like Wendys frosty, but it was good enough to take care of my ice cream craving and not loaded with a ton of sugar, just a little . Works for me !!

This sounds like my morning Protein shake. I use chocolate Protein powder in place of the cocoa, half or whole frozen banana, ice and almond milk...sometimes Peanut Butter, coconut, PB2....put it in the Ninja and Yummy!

Tmf - other than the occasional strawberry margarita, im not much of a drinker , but if adding rum to your "milkshake " makes you happy, well allrighty then !!!! Whatever blows your skirt up , as we say ! Me, 1 drink and its night night time, or as my hubby calls me " a cheap date ! " Gee, thanks honey.............

This turned out much better than I anticipated except there's no need for the honey and the honey just coagulates as soon as it hits the cold banana so it doesn't blend. Either way it was very tasty except the banana makes the calorie count skyrocket. I guess that's why it tastes so dang good?

I had this for "breakfast" this afternoon after my run.

If I enter it into my LoseIt app, I get the following results.

1 scoop bodylogix chocolate Protein powder 120 cal

1 banana ( medium ) 105 cal

1 cup Almond Breeze Almond milk (unsweetened) 30 cal

2 tbls PB2 45 cal

Crushed Ice

totals

300 cal

31 grams Protein

36 grams carbs

5 grams fat

I put it in the Ninja and it is great...just like a Thick "Frosty".

Edited to add, I find peeling and freezing banana's in a Ziploc bag and using them, makes this even better than using unfrozen bananas...and you don't have to add as much ice.

I still have 1 1/2 nanas left in the freezer and will try the PB next time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
