Are you out of your mind???

The jury is still out. I am waiting for more opinions, but they consensus is leaning to me being out of my mind.

Had a rough go this weekend with the pre-op diet. Had some popcorn mmmmmmm, and a little piece of chicken breast. I must try harder, I must try harder....these are my last four days until surgery....I think I am happy because I will be finished this pre-op diet but then I go on the post-op. Can you ever actually win at this game?

You win when see your sizes going down, the scale going down and you feel so much better about yourself!

Little slips Donna, I wouldn't worry about it - you are almost there.

Thanks, I dont know what happened but she went hula crazy last week, she was working overtime for sure. I think she is going to need a break this week though. Seem to be the new pattern lately.

Last nite I went to the TLBC pre surgery seminar. There was a nutritionist there. She was very informative about what to eat, how to eat. During her speech I had an internal Freak Out. I started thinking about how this will never end. At least when I was on a diet I knew I would reach my goal and then life would be normal again and I could eat again. OOOOHHHHH yeah, that's how I gained all the weight plus back. Well I didn't think of that last nite. I just thought that I'll never be able to enjoy all that food at an Italian wedding, no more Mandarin all you can eat buffet or any buffet for that matter!! I was seriously sick about it. I'm not even sure how I feel about it today. I told my kids and they think I'm taking things too far with this surgery maybe. I know it is the best thing for me. I will never be able to lose and keep it off on my own. Oh I'm just going on babbling. I haven't changed my mind and I go under this Thursday. Well, I had a nice run at all that great food and junk and no looking back now. I know how much happier I will be when I am thin again. I really am a different person. Maybe I will buy another motorcyle. I sold the last one cause I had to lean over and my ass looked BAD when I put on weight. I am so much more confident, and I really do miss the energy I had.

Well, I feel better now, have a nice day:D

Donna - you can eat all those things after but the difference will be that you will feel SATISIFIED after just a few bites - you wont have to eat the whole thing! That is how I am looking at it.

My DH promised to share a kit kat blizzard with me this summer. I will enjoy it immensely, but will not have to have it all.

Donna D.

I know what you mean about Mandarin - before I started on the pre-op diet I made the rounds to have all the fast food places (except Mandarin) that I had frequented routinely. But this time it was different because I was practising eating slowly and with smaller bites and when I actually took the time to chew the fast foods more slowly I found that it didn't really taste all the good to me anymore!! While I can't say that I don't crave fast food anymore (DQ Blizzards may not be totally out off of my menu) I just don't want it such a big part of my meals anymore.

Hang in there and good luck - we'll be here for you when you "get to the other side!"

Heldie.

Donna, I know it's scary but just try and look at the big picture. More energy, healthier living, shopping for clothes in regular stores, buying off the rack and soooooooo much more.

I'm new at this too. I start my pre-op tomorrow. What I've read over the months is lots of success stories and many, many people saying they are really not deprived, they can still eat their favorite foods only now they control food - food doesn't control them.

I know you will do very well because you believe this is what is right for you. Keep smilin'

:)

All you pre-op folks sound like you are doing really good. Really, apart from making the decision to get banded the pre-op is the most difficult both mentally and physically.

After that it gets much easier, and once you are on the other side it is so worth it. For me, I had to remember that I was not saying good bye to food but rather see you later.

I will go have a yogurt as a show of support.

Hang in there,

Andrew

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
