Donna,

Glad to hear that all went well (makes me feel a little less nervous about my upcoming surgery).

Look forward to joining you on the banded side next Friday.

thanks everyone. Yes Doddie, the chicken Soup is good but it gave me the runs. Thought it was gas oooooooohhhhhhh hurry, hurry...you get my drift. I am feeling hungry. I actually would like some yoghurt. I always have this heavy feeling in between my boobs where I think my big cut is. The cut does feel sensitive but it's inside that feel weird. I can't take deep breaths cuz it hurts. Is that my new pouch or is it gas?

Hi Donna D. give the clinic a call and check our your feelings. Could be the port may be a bit high or it could be gas. I had no problems so have no experiences to call on. Anyone else out there that can help Donna???

Sure glad you are doing OK and your comment on the chicken Soup made me laugh out loud. I immediately thought "there goes Donna with her exercise routine". LOL Doddie

It's a normal feeling Donna. Your incision is only a few days old....so it is likely a combo of the incision itself and the "weird" feeling of the port being in there. I had that too. It will go away.

Thanks Yoda, When I place my hand over my port it is sensitive and bruised. When I touch the incision near it I feel nothing.

When I try to take a deep breath, it is difficult to do and everything from my neckline to my belly button feels tight. Is that what you felt?

Yeah, you pretty much described how it felt for me...but if you are at any way concerned about it, give the clinic a call....they will no doubt alleviate any concerns you may have better than we can! (and that is what they are there for!).

Left a message for Nancy at TLBC to ask about this feeling in my chest. Still there today. I am burping and f@#$%ing like a trucker. I am doing some walking and it sure does get things moving. Tomorrow is my full Fluid day. I can hardly wait, yummy yoghurt (never thought I'd say that after pre-op), milk in my tea and coffee, creamy Soups. I think I'm in heaven.

Doddie- how did your fill go. Are you losing better now.

Thanks for all your info. I love you guys. I couldn't ask for more. Well, wait a minute, do you like to donate to charity, hmmmmmmmm

Hi Donna D: Welcome to our side. My fill went well. Experienced bandsters told me whether to stop drinking Water or not and that I needed a defill. Started our with 4 ccs and then ended up with 2cc. The exciting part was I met the new nutrionist and I had the pleasure of talking with her while she waited to seen by the staff. She picked apart my menus and gave me terrific hints. She is also banded herself and lost 100 lbs. Also, Maral gave me a doctor contact to go for my fills here in Vancouver. As the clinic referred me, my band is covered I hope.

Sorry you are experiencing problems, but every new feeling is going to be scarey for some time. Read my previous posts and how I was freaking out. You may have a tight restriction. Some do. I have. I understand there are many who haven't had a fill for at least one year. So keep calling the clinic and posting for information. Someone somewhere will have answer. Doddie.

Glad to hear the fill went well Doddie. I did get a call back from Nancy the Nurse and she said the heaviness I felt in my chest was normal and she wanted me to take very deep breaths and hold them for 10 seconds then blow out - do this 5 times per hour. She also said when I go on Full fluids - hip hip hurray - this will help it go away in about 2 days. I did this exercises (pretty easy - wish they were all like that- and I feel better already.

I am going to my cottage Wednesday for about a week....for recuperation purposes only.......so I want to wish Susansilver, Cat, Jurema, Mr. Yoda, robgoblin and whoever else is going under on May 2nd and 4th all the very best for an easy ride. I wll see you on the other side.

xo

On full fluids now. Had my first Unjury chocolate shake and it was yummy. I really don't know if I have restriction or not. I am behaving like I do so I will keep portions small. No problem going down. No more pill crushing. I break them in two (only applies to pills that are scored) and swallow one at a time. I am feeling very little chest heaviness today and I continue to do the exercise Nancy told me too. Life is looking good. My pants fell baggy today and my mom said my ass looks smaller. God love her!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
