I'm sorry to hear that. It's tough in the beginning but we will be ok as the weeks pass. Yeah the incision pain has been a beast for me as well but I know tomorrow will be better than today and its goes on. Keep your head up. We are all here for each other.

How is it going jesswls? How are you feeling?

Today is day 5. My incision soreness is starting to go away. I bent over this morning and didn't want to jump from a bridge. I am 13 lbs down, still on clear liquid until Wed. I get my drain removed on Friday and will talk to doctor about exercise. I'm seeing a bit of bat wing like arms and am concerned. My weight seems to be dropping off quickly. I have lost that much in trying over the last few years. I need to go to my doc this weak and have blood pressure meds checked. Feeling a bit light headed this morning. I am getting in a lot of liquids and not hungry so I'm thinking it may be my pressure. Over all feeling good.

How is everybody else doing?

Hey everyone. I'm going in on Tuesday. I got a little confused last night by some thing someone said regarding diet- during the first week of liquids.. Are u getting protein(taking Protein Shakes? ) someone in my Instagram support group went off on a tangent saying no ur not supposed to. Protein was on my list of stock up items ( for the first week) from my doctor...

Sh3iz, follow your surgeons instructions. Everyone is different. Do what he needs you to do. I was on Clear Liquids only this first week but some others were cleared for Protein Shakes. Just get clear instructions from him and you will be fine.

Still on a slow recovery. Today I can finally stomach my Vitamins. I already got in 8 oz. of Water (only been up for 2 hours) and am shooting for 64 total for day. Incision pain isn't too bad except on right side where I hurt myself from dry heaving so much. I'm only about 3 lbs down since day of surgery. 13 is a lot! I gained about 6 right after while in hospital I believe from fluids. But that went away fast. I am also feeling a bit light headed and dizzy I think it's from not taking in enough water first couple of days. But I think I am good on that now. I'm looking forward to continuing to improve. I'm still very tired but I think once I start eating more that will improve as well.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
