I'm sure this has been asked and answered but the search is not working well for me right now. How far out were you when you tried salad and fresh veggies? I need some variety and roughage in my diet :)

5 months - epic fail: slimes, threw up

7 months: ok in moderation

1 year+: fine.

At almost 2 years, I love a good salad. A big portion too. My favorite salad is greens and chicken slices with goat cheese, candied walnuts or pecans, sliced strawberries and raspberry vinaigrette.

I'm at six weeks and I just had salad for the first time yesterday. Before that I did eat cucumbers raw but I figure they are soft. Yesterday I had cucumbers, spinach leaves and carrots and I was fine. I never thought I would miss salad but I did. I have yet to try red peppers, they seem to always be a mess in my stomach before surgery so I can't imagine what they would be like after!

I started eating salad after three months and I'm fine.

I enjoy it so much but have to realize I can't eat as much as I used to. I add lemon and olive oil with seasonings.

I wasn't allowed any raw vegetables until 6 months out. I haven't had any problems with them since then but I eat tiny amounts so I can focus on Protein.< /p>

I had to wait 8 wks for raw veggies/fruit. The 1st day I could, I did. Went to Red Robin for my fav: Avo Cobbo salad (lettuce, Tomato, bacon, grilled chicken, hard egg, avocado and blue cheese crumbles. I was able to eat about 1/6th of it.

I'm now able to eat 1/4 to 1/3 of it 10 mths out. Luv my salad and its what I missed the most when I couldn't have it. I believe I even had dreams about eating salad when I couldn't...

Good luck

Just had it this week. Week 4.

I just tried to have a mcdonalds southwest salad and all I could eat was the grilled chicken. Didn't have room for anything else.

I was sleeved on 3/10. I am eating salad with no problem. I was afraid to eat salad in the beginning because of all the horror stories. Just goes to show you we are all different. Just depends on the tummy and her attitude. Good luck!

Happy Losing,

I wasn't allowed till 4months out, but my tummy didnt like it, so i didnt try again till 5months & LOVE LOVE it! I have the spring mix, cut it up really good... i use rice vingar & smart balance oil with good seasons dried spices. (about a teaspoon of it mixed up) & top it with shrimp or chicken! (Granted its only about a 1/3 cup food, dont always get it all down... )

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
