June 3rd...anyone else? Anyone familiar with Dr. John Weaver in Denver?

Recommended Posts

Hi All -

I just joined, but have been reading for a while, and the support on here looks great - and I'm sure we all need that.

I'm scheduled for June 3rd, as long as all pre-op goes fine.

Anyone on here have experience with Dr. John Weaver in Denver?

I finally decided to have weight loss surgery after getting a good look at myself in a full length hotel mirror...Argh!

I've tried several "diets" with no long term success and I want to be around for my kids, my husband and family. I so want to feel comfortable taking my kids swimming or enjoy playing ball with them, riding bikes and so on. Not to mention not deal with health repercussions in the future.

I'm really hoping I can find some pals on here - my husband is supportive of this. My mother, not so much. I know it's going to be a big lifestyle change - forever - and feel like I need this "tool" so that I can be of proper weight forever and stop the up and down.

My surgery is also scheduled for June 3rd. I am both nervous and excited. I start the pre-op diet next week and I hope these two weeks go by really quickly. Good luck and let's keep in touch!

I am having the exact same feelings. I, too, start pre-op diet next week and hope I can follow it like I need to. I am also a little overwhelmed w/ trying to figure out Protein choices and what to have for after surgery. A lot of information and Protein formula's. I'm sure I will, but at first it's like oh my...

I'd love to stay in touch and encourage each other, share trials and successes and so on.

Awesome! What hospital/center are you having surgery at? What are you eating for your pre-op diet?

I'm still trying to figure stuff out for post-op diet...I ordered some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein mix and I can't stand them.

I can do the Isopure; so I will be stocking up on those...

Glad to meet you and good luck to you too.

I will be at St Joe's for the surgery. It sounds like Dr Chae is one of the few doc's who doesn't require a pre-op diet, just Clear liquids the day before. I'm wondering how to manage that while working on Monday, but figure it will all work out :D . As for post op, I've bought a supply of Isopure (various flavors) and last weekend we were able to score two cases of EAS AdvantEDGE for a really good price at Sam's, so I hope I still like the taste after surgery. Oh, and the UPS guy just delivered some Meal Replacement samples from BariatricAdvantage along with the Vitamins my Nut recommended.

We are on our way!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
