So, today is my 1 year bandiversary. I'm so pleased with how this has gone. No complications at all. I still watch what I eat, not always as closely as I could, but as closely as I need to. I'm at a stand still with weight loss, but I'm almost to goal, so I know if I tighten up I'll get there. Just trying to live my life and not focus on food. Hubby has lost 40 lbs during our journey and we are double pleased. He did not have surgery. I never thought I would even consider WLS, but my weight had already gotten out of control and my quality of life was diminishing. I'm just grateful for everything. I'm also very grateful for the support I have received from many board members here. This is a great place to get a helping hand or a sympathetic shoulder.
The band is a tool for me. I'm still learning to use it properly and now I'm pretty much in the maintenance phase and I believe I can handle this. I am glad that I came on when it was the old board and wasn't exposed to all of the negativity and band-bashing that I see with the new board. I probably would have chickened out and I'd just be further down the road of self-destruction. Any-who.....Thanks everybody.
