1800, up to 2200 depending on type and length of exercise for the day. Sleeved on 7-4-2012.

I'm impressed. How are people getting in that much? I was lucky to get 800 or so today (ok I'm sick but still) but that is a rough estimate. I thought we would only get in 1000 at the most? That's what I've heard but if I'm wrong I need to know to correct it so I pass on right info.

I am out a ways in maintenance mode and this amount of calories of 1800 stabilizes my weight at goal weight of 180 for height 5'11" per the activities I do during the week (about 1 hour a day). The key is to eat a small amount every few hours, focusing on Protein and good carbs. Start early when you rise and end when you go to bed. Every 3 hours is also when I get hungry so don't have any hunger issues. Since insulin levels are well balanced due to timing and clean quality of food, I never get the munchies or anything of that sort. It is golden. I hit this calorie amount of 1800 at around 1 year post op. At 6 months I was eating 600-800. At 3 months, 400-600. At one month, 300-500.

I am 16 months out and I eat between 1,200 and 1,400 good calories a day. I am maintaining right now. If I gain more than my 2lb bounce I cut back to about 1,000 a day. I really don't want to go lower as my hair really started growing again when I upped my calories.

I follow the 5:2 protocol. If I fast two days a week my average is 1,171 cals a day, If I fast one day a week its 1,371 a day. I can maintain on this so far. I exercise a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Very cool to read the differences

I think I need to try the 5:2 or the 8 hr one--- hmmm can they be combined...? Anyone try that- I'm sure it would be great results

Actually, I have never reached 1000 calories in a day. I aim for around 600 calories a day, but I'm more concerned with getting my Protein in than my calorie count. I typically am exercising a lot. 10,000 steps a day plus three Water aerobics calsses a week and three enhanced fitness classes a week.I have just recently upped my calories from 500 to 600. I'm 20 weeks post-op.

This is an interesting topic. I currently get in between 900 and 1000 calories a day. I am seven months post op.

I have been told not to focus on calories but focus on a minimum of 70grams of Protein. 1 gram for every inch I am tall.

I know my calorie intake only because I use myfitnesspal to track daily. On occasion I will hit 1100 calories but it is rare.

I am wondering if the comment that loseitsoon made is true about hair loss. My hair is coming out worse than ever and pretty soon I won't have any left. All of my labs which I had done 3 weeks ago were perfect. Will using my Protein or calories even higher help with that?

Also, I still have 50lbs to go so I don't want to sabotage my plan.

Thoughts?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
