Apple Peanut Butter Protein Shake

Recommended Posts

Apples and Peanut Butter have always been a favorite snack of mine. Post op it's been apples and PB2. So I thought I'd be clever and create an apple peanut butter Protein Shake. Mixed Syntrax Nectar Apple Ecstasy and PB2. Tried several different versions with varying the amounts of the two ingredients. They all sucked! And smelled like puke. Beware! Do not try this at home.

Maybe try blended apples or applesauce with a vanilla powder or just almond milk and unflavored powder

We blend apples in our smoothies all the time. I'm surprised it didn't work out for you. Try it with a bit of vanilla Protein Powder. I often add PB to smoothies as a treat. I LOVE PB in smoothies. Good Luck! :)

My go-to for experimental shakes is Vanilla Cake Batter by Celebrate Bariatric Products. I bought it online. I also throw in a little extra vanilla and sweetener to suit my taste. Yesterday I used it for a Protein shake with mixed berries. I think you have inspired me to try one with banana and some dark chocolate. Hmmmmm.

I actually love PB2 in my vanilla and chocolate shakes. And I also blend apples in my smoothies. But boy, the combo I described was not a hit.

Miss Mac.... One of my favorite shakes is Premier Protein chocolate mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with skim milk and 1/2 large banana (or one small one). Over 40g Protein and Tastes just like the milkshakes my dad made when I was little.

PB2 is a powdered Protein product that needs to be reconstiuted with Water. It does not have the fat that Peanut Butter has. You can find it online. They also make a powdered chocolate product. I will look up the web address. I think only the manufacturer sells it.

On this other note about Premier Chocolate: My first job in 1969 was as a donut finisher at Dunkin Donuts. My favorite was the chocolate frosted banana cream filled. I guess it doesn't matter now since they haven't had them on the menu for years.

The website for the PB2 manufacturing plant is: www.bellplantation.com. Apparently it is being distributed elsewhere now. Some people really, really like it, but I wasn't impressed. Maybe buy just one jar to start with until you see how it goes over in your house.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
