I thought I was going to have my for the surgery but didn't. My surgeon's office said it was fine.

No tampax just pads though... They also put those hospital pads under you in case there's any mess.

Good Luck!!

I timed my surgery so that I would be right in the middle of my cycle to avoid this problem.

I get my period every 29 days like clock work. So according to my calendar, my period should have came and gone several days before surgery day. Well guess what? It was 5 days late and started the morning of surgery! While in the pre-op room, they had me take out my tampon and handed me a towel to put down there. It was no big deal to them. It WAS a pain to deal with post-surgery in the hospital while hooked up to the IV.
