I have sensitive skin an I am allergic to band aid adhesive but who would have thought I was allergic to surgical glue. I was banded on April 1st and when the glue came off I got red itchy welts around all of my incisions. I finally broke down today and went to surgeons office and they told me to take Benadryl at night and gave me a steroid pack. Oh the itching has been driving me nuts.

I had this with my band surgery. The Benadryl didn't help so much, but I used the gel on the incisions. What helped was loofa. I showered a couple of times a day, loofaing around the incisions and it helped to shed the skin containing the adhesive (dermabond).
