Hi Bella is it because everyone else who has had the sleeve is now too busy getting on with their lives. I hope so, one of my bigger concerns was that as this is still a relatively new procedure there isnt any long-term data on its effect on people. But in the good surgeons we trust.

Congrats kiwi, You won't regret it. I think the hardest bit is the head drama of wanting food but knowing you can't because of fluids stage. I'm craving different flavours but still have 2 days to go before I hit puree stage. So glad to hear your date, now the Optifast and wait.....good luck

No problems kiwi, just bored with liquids lol. I've lost 5.4 kgs since op and 10.4 kgs since beginning Optifast great results that I definitely couldn't have done without the surgery!!!

HI All,

Been absent for a while from the forum, as work has been hectic combined with making sure I am doing what i need to physically.

6 weeks post op and down about 25kg, still a bit to go.

While i have moved to the soft diet I am still only really comfortable with liquids. Soft solids fill me up so quick and changing old eating habits is not easy.

Kiwi, walking helped me heaps. from day 1 post op, and even now if food has become blocked or i have tried to eat to much walking gets things to settle much quicker.

I also really enjoy lemonade icy poles, they seem to also calm my stomach...

Xena you seem to be doing really well and weight loss is powering along. The liquid diet i have moved to is using different Protein shakes. The dietician has put me on Aussie Bodies Protein revival, which are a pleasant change from Optifast.

Are you feeling nauseous at all?

I hate the feeling, but can't seem to get rid of it.

I've felt nauseous once but I think it was because I drank too much at the one time....

How is everyone traveling? Xena how is your recovery going, not too much pain I hope and how is your food management going. I start my 15 day lead in to surgery this Wednesday and so started including Protein shakes to cover about 75% of my calorie intake about 5 days ago to help me into it. Really wish it would hurry up so I can get it over with. Also how long before going back to work if you have to lift 10-20kg bags?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
