Hi! I live in the UK and had my surgery almost 3 weeks ago now. This is a great resource but mainly US and Canada. How are you feeling about the process?

I'm doing really well. I didn't have to do a liquid diet but I had a strict liver diet for four weeks beige surgery. I hit a low in day four, but it got easier because you knew the end was in sight. I ended up loosing 2.5 stone so it was worth it!

I'm feeling great. Spend 3 nights in hospital and didn't take any pain kills when I got home. Still a little tired but hoping that will pass in the next few days. Have been taking it easy and haven't walked as much as I should. Hardest part now is making sure I get all my liquids in. I feel like I'm always drinking. Who is your surgeon?

Sorry tebowfan just seen ur msg. I am doing ok nervous but ok. Are u post or pre op?

I am preop and on day 3 of liquid diet. Can only have Protein Shakes, broth, sf Popsicles and Jello. 700-900 calories. I lost 7 pounds in 2 days, but this sluggishness and headache was horrible. I am better today but hungrier for some reason. My surgery is May 7th. how about yours?

I'm down south as well. I went privately (wasn't willing to wait for the nhs process) and my surgeon was Mr Agrawal. He was really amazing. I just had a dress delivered from asos and thrilled that the size 22 fit perfect! (Down from 26)

My names Emma btw that's amazing. Oh where down south I live in Chichester. What sort off stuff are you having atm to get your Protein in?

I'm Cristin. I should specify that I'm in the south east. Essex to be exact! ATM I'm in the purée stage. Mince meat didn't work well for me but chicken is great. I blitz the chicken up with taco seasoning or BBQ Sauce with a little cheese. Refried Beans. Ricotta. Slimfast on occasion. Milk and nesquick. eggs. That's about it. This website is a great resource for ideas, but we can't get a lot of the products here. I get about 63g protein a day and between 650 and 750 calories a day. Still struggling with liquids. Trying to up to 2 litres starting today. Any worries/concerns?

I am just bit worried about the pain after surgery. Did u take anything in with you as I have seen some people recommend something for trap wind. I can't tell you how nice it is too speak to somebody here who has had it done. It's ok speaking to family but when they haven't had can't answer question or anything. Do you add Protein Powder to any off your food to build up Protein? :)

I didn't take anything for pain when I got home. I was fine! I had effervescent paracetamol (gross) and codeine (furry teeth feeling and can back you up). I just walked. I had a little pain in my side but took laxatives and seems to have worked. I haven't added protein powder to anything. On the liquid, I had slimfast, strained Soup, buildup soup made with milk and milk and nesquick. I had some great ladies that I talked to at the support group at my hospital that helped me greatly. Happy to return the favour!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
