I just wanted to share...I'm 10 days post op (4/8/07) and still on Full liquids. :hungry: We stopped to get something to eat and I thought I'd try ordering Soup. I figured at worse I could sip out the broth. Well we went to T.G.I.FRIDAY'S. I ordered the French Onion soup and asked if they could blend it up for me and they happily did! It was Delicious!!! And I was able to eat with the Family!:clap2: I tolerated the soup well and lunch was a success!

Raven...

Good idea to ask them to blend the Soup for you. I would have never thought to ask. I'm happy you were able to enjoy a meal with your family or friends!!!!

I had french onion Soup at dinner last night (restaurant), as a matter of fact! I scooped out the soup and the crotons and the rest was pretty much broth.< /p>

I had to stop with the Clear Liquids. I had to move onto more substantial food. I was constantly starving. I had terrible hunger pains, headaches. I was banded on 3/29 too. I was told to call my doctor because I can eat food. I mean real food. eggs, Beans, fish. I had clear liquids for 3 days and on Sunday, I thought I was dying. Is there something wrong with me?

Hi all

I have a 4/20 surgery date andjust started preop diet today.

I was to start diet on 4/6 but I really did not think that I would have surgery 4/20. Because my wife is having the surgery also, but she went to her first consultation 1 month after me. But she had ins. aproval before me, because they sent her labs and info under my name. and when we got it fixed she was aproved and I'm still waiting. I talked to lapband soultions today and they said that by next week they should have aproval. And to keep up the preop diet for my 4/20 date.

So my question is this.

should I tell them that I did not start the diet on 4/6 or just keep quiet and be extra good.

Just stick to it now. I seriously doubt a week is going to make a difference on the diet. My surgeon doesn't even ask for one. Good luck.

The Pre Op Diet is for multiple reasons...one is to get you ready for the upcoming adventure that you will be taking...smaller portions, small slow sips, that sort of thing. It also helps you to loose some weight, the idea is really to clean things out on the inside, maybe reduce some organs sizes that sort of thing. It helps to shrink back the stomach some and maybe even the liver as it sits right in the way. I would not worry terribly about it. As others have said there are docs out there that don't even require the Pre Op diet. I would start it ASAP and stick with it. It's going to help you get use to the future and maybe even shrink back the stomach a wee bit.

Best Wishes!:clap2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
