My surgery was at 9:30. I've been dozing on and off from the pain meds. As expected, most of the pain is from gas. Doc said everything went great! Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes.

Congrats to you!

I had my sleeve on May 7th, 2014. To my surprise it has gone really well. I did not have any pain medication until I got ready to leave the hospital. And there after really had no need for any. And believe me I am not one for pain. I have 5 small incisions that were covered with a glue type sealant. My doctor gave me a prescription of a cream for the scar that was for pain and another for the scar to heal better. I have B12, prilosac, Iron , Calcium caltrate, and Vitamin d. I think I am most impressed with the lack of pain. I do find it hard to scarf down 60 grams of Protein because it is almost like my stomach crittles up when I drink something. I don't have a lot of energy either probably because of the lack of protein. But just curious what kind of Soups you eat in week 2. I am big Bisque eater. I love mushroom bisque, tomatoe bisque, lobster and crap bisque, etc? Also I WAS (Lord, knows if I will be now) a BIG Mexican food eater could eat it breakfast, lunch and dinner. Has anyone had any trouble tolerating Mexican food? Any other tips for post op?

I got the same letter from BCBS. I was going to call surgeon's office just to check, but I kind of figured it was like skellertx says. The default is 1 day.

I did not stay in the hospital overnight at all. I also had my surgery by way of hiatal hernia repair method. My doctor just did all my test to make sure I was ok to be released and I was in my bed for the night. No problems or complications!

I had my surgery May 5th. I was scared and nervous but was so pleasantly surprised. It seems to have been so easy. Other than a little tenderness at the incision sites, I have had no pain, and best of all, NO HUNGER! You all will do great and I am excited for yall!

Same results here. Had mine on the 7th

How does everyone's large incision feel? Mine is a ton better but it still hits to use muscles in that spot.

My surgery is scheduled for May 23rd, and I. Am both super excited and really nervous. From reading all the posts here, I know this is normal but so many emotions. This may be the hardest part.

my2 mine is the 23rd too! I start a one week low fat liquid diet this Friday. 100% fruit juice, skim k, sugar free pops, sugar free Jello , Protein shakes and low fat chicken cream Soup and Tomato Soup ugh.... Right this second I'm scared but in an hour or two I'll probably be excited again. too have been flip flopping back and forth emotionally. So happy to see others feel the same. Its a huge life changer! Just have to keep telling myself its only food and I will be much healthier. Easier said right lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
