I plan on being there, It should be fun and informative. I currentley belong to the Scripps group in La Jolla, But there support group meetings once a month do not discuss the matters that I feel need to be addressed.

Looking forward to meeting everyone, I hope I am not the only Male there!

Okay, we are meeting this Sunday at Anaheim, Downtown Disney at the Rainforest cafe at noon. I am hoping to have a big enough table to seat everyone. We might have to sit at two tables if there are a lot of people that show up. I am going to take everyone's info so I can send it out and we can meet up again. If anyone has a pool we could do a pool party BBQ thing this summer. If any of you have any questions about the meet up please email me.

Thanks and I can't wait to meet the bandster locals of Orange County, LA California.

It was nice meeting everyone. Let's plan on the end of July meeting up again. If anyone would like to offer their house or if anyone has a pool they would like to offer let me know. Here is a pic of our group yesterday.

Yes, It was nice meeting you also. Look at all the Soups on the table, I bet the waitress thought she was serving a large group with lots of food and a big tip! LOL

I hope next time we have a place where it would be better for conversation, and perhaps a format where each person could speak on what has been going well, and what has not. Then the group could comment on it. I do feel support is the key to success.

Oh my gosh, Jeff--that's hilarious (all the Soup on the table). So funny, but I really didn't even notice until the picture. BTW, how are you doing on your Water? ?? Update, please :-)

Vikki, thanks for arranging the meet and greet. It's so nice to have people to talk to that are local and are going through similar emotions/situations/crisis's/etc. I do agree that the next time we meet (at the end of July), it would be nice to meet somewhere where it's a bit more "intimate" and easier to have more conversation with everyone.

Like Sandy and everyone else has said...it really was great meeting you all and both Raymond and I look forward to seeing you guys at the end of July...Newly banded!

Take Care,

Lili

Hi Everyone,

I am interested in joining as well. Live in Lake Forest work in Brea. I am getting banded May 9th (this Weds) by Dr. Nguyen at UCI Medical Center. Just started my 3 day liquid diet and having major caffeine withdrawals. But would love to meet others and share the experience.

Kitty

Hello katspaww,

I have my last appointment with Dr. Nguyen on August 28 and will probably get my band in September. Could you share your thoughts about what you liked about Dr. Nguyen and if you have any complications. I think I am a little pre- surgery scared and want to know all I can about him from people who have had the band put in by him. Thanks.

P.S. I would love to get together with the group. I have to say, it was cool to see the faces of the people on this site.

Yes, yes, yes! I am so interested in meeting up. I haven't been approved yet for the band and will know more once I meet up with my doctor on Weds. I live in Fullerton and work in Cerritos. If it is after the 21st of this month, my schedule is open. Please keep me in the loop!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
