I had the blurry vision also. I felt fine but couldn't read anything! I also got the weird blisters and the ends of my steri strips. They looked like burns. Very raised and filled with clear Fluid. They itched so much. I trimmed all of the strips so they were only covering the actual incisions. The blisters are healing but look worse than my smaller incisions do! Crazy.

Crazy - the exact same thing happened to me! It was worse when I put on my glasses - it caused a headache! I sat in my Hosp bed w/ an ice pack on my head! And the blisters look worse than the incisions for sure! Strange I was told it was an allergic reaction to the strips & to remove all of them so than every incision area does not blister.. I'm on the mend feeling fairly good today! I swept & mopped the kitchen & did some laundry. I'm 11 days post op & ready to kick up my walking strut. I have just been slow strolling nothing too vigorous.. I have not been on this site a couple of days! (I missed it). ;) . I hope you are well.

Post-Op Day 4: Surgery was on April 16th. I find it challenging to type updates on my iPad, but it's better than going downstairs to the desktop. So here I go. Swallowing Water is getting better. I can feel the water traveling from top to bottom, but it's no longer making me nauseated. So far I've only tried Isopure, V8 ( low sodium), Jello, water, broth, and pudding. Getting tired of it already. This evening I'm experimenting and mixed 1 scoop of vanilla Protein Shake with Torani Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup, and added a scoop of instant coffee...yummy!!! My mind and I are pretending its Starbucks. I no longer take any prescribed pain and nausea meds, only the heartburn one for 30 days. I sleep better at night without waking up to dry mouth. I take it extra slow turning to change positions. Today was my first day out of the house. Although sometimes it's not fun, it's a blessing that my family is pretty strict with me about my limits; don't pick anything up! Get help up/down stairs! Don't open the door! Don't bend to pick anything up! You should pin your bulb to your bra. LoL!! I'll take the attention while I can. ;0) I took my husband to Breakfast today. I did GREAT, but my mind remembered the delicious taste of everything on his plate; bacon, eggs, sausage, country potatoes, with a side of pancakes. Hubby didn't want to sit there and eat in front of me, but I told him that I have to work on it now, because my eating habits have to change. I talked myself through it, "Davina, you will eat again some day...these same foods...less of it, but you WILL eat again. I promise." I did great and stuck to my jello. Through out the day it got a little harder since if did not prepare my "meal" ahead of time. I was thirsty and weak from hunger. When I came home, I made chili Beans for dinner and told my girls my favorite thing to do was "taste test" every piece of ingredient...but not today... Boy was I tempted!!!! I didn't want to get sick or tear my stapled stomach so I walked away. Whew!! What are your challenges and how are you handling them?? What other recipes have you tried?? Congrats to new Sleevers!! Y'all keep in touch!

I'm a " blended w/ ice & skim milk" yogurt drinking regular now! Dannon Greek yogurt all the flavors -zero fat & 12 Proteins I drink one for lunch - I add 2oz of skim milk to make it 14 proteins.. I add ice cubes to increase my water/liquid intake. It is a yummy discovery for me. My nutritionist told me pre vsg to try to find things you really like. It is challenging in this full liquid phase but the yogurt drink is a winner! You can add vanilla Protein Powder to it to increase your intake too! My biggest challenge is getting in all my liquids and not paying attention & taking a gulp to drink & then it hurts going down.. Or too big of a bite of Soup.< /p>

I have been blending ice cubes w/ Crystal light or water flavorings blending it up to almost like a slushie, I eat it w/ a spoon! All this to try to increase my liquids!!! Baby steps through each stage! It can be challenging out to eat! I tried to order Tomato Soup when out w/ my husband but it was full of chunks! He had pot roast, veggies, mashed potatoes & gravy! I wanted to have a bite only because it was there! I reminded myself that I too one day will be able to have a few bites & that will be all I want is just a few bites because that will be all my tiny tummy can handle & that thought made me smile!

Also I think my boobs have shrunk just slightly & I know my face has so those two things remind me of how my vsg is working for me! Ok - I will stop rambling now.

Take care & keep on keeping on with your journey! We are on our way... ;)

We'll I'm at work today anxiously awaiting the call for my surgery time for TOMORROW !!! It seemed like this would never come. I'm on the last day of my two week liquid diet and I have to say it wasn't toooo bad. I had three days where I wanted to eat something so bad, but each time it was short lived. I actually like all but one of the Protein drinks I tried, so maybe that's why it was a little easier feeling to me. I'm so very excited to just get this surgery done and get started towards a new me. APRIL 22nd IS FINALLY HERE!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
