When was your first stall?

I got the infamous 3rd week stall right on time. After that, I could expect a week long stall at least once a month.

After that did weight loss resumed at a quick pace?

I never experienced the infamous 3 week stall (by which I mean my weight stopped dropping around week 3 after the operation) but I did have a quasi-stall that lasted about 2 and a half weeks. My weight basically stayed between 184 - 185lbs. I was really worried.

As I posted in another thread, I feel this was because I stopped following the 30/30.

I started taking a swig or two of milk right after eating a meal or snack OR I'd have a few swigs of milk, then immediately eat a meal or snack. My rationale was "I won't eat as much because there's already a little something in my stomach".

Yeah...about that...my weight remained a steady 184/185. Finally on Saturday night I decided to get back on the 30/30. Today is Wednesday and my weight is 180 lbs. (I weight every morning and every night, so I could actually see my weight starting to go down from that one change)

I'm at week 3-4 and glad I'm not alone! I think our bodies are still in a bit of shock....that's what I'm hoping....hang in there!

You have to think week 3 most ppl start eating "normal" food again no matter if its mushies or pureed so naturally you wont. Its ok just remember its a stall

I'm 4 weeks post op and I have lost 21.4lbs. I think I have stalled. I'm getting nervous. I don't know if I'm good and on track or I'm moving slow!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
