I don't know. I'm waiting on the surgeon. My IV pump is driving me insane right now, some alarm is going off and they won't come in and turn it off. I'm about to throw it out the window.

Just found out my surgery was moved up two hours which is wonderful because I was really not looking forward to having dry mouth for that long and hearing my stomach gurgle. I told my 9 year old today in a very generic way and she is ok with it. Thankfully! Usually she is clingy with me and a drama queen. Now I have to pack, take my before pictures, and take my measurements. My stomach is a mess! I feel kind of weepy and nostalgic and sad. I guess just saying good bye to my old life that I was comfortable with is hard even though I know the future is going to be so much better!

Good luck on you journey to your new life

Yea those things can definitely drive a person nuts.. I used to hit the silent button if they didn't come soon enough... they would yell at me for it but sorry I can not & will not sit & listen to tht noise for forever. I would hit the silent button & then press the call button like crazy lol!

I can't find a silent button, I wish!

I have to stay again tonight. After everything UHC put me through for the last two years I'm kind of glad they have to pay for an extra day, the bastards.

Cracked me up about UHC having to pay for an extra night. Hope tonight is better for you and you don't throw the pump out the window.

Well I'm all kinds of funny. My husband and j have a weird sense of humor. I asked him yesterday if it would be ok to say to my surgeon "it was a pleasure having you inside me." He said no. Lol. Hey it could have been worse!

OMG, you'd fit right in with me and my BFF. We've been friends since college and have the same type of sense of humor. Hope you get to go home today and feel better!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
