I am on my way to the hospital to have my band taken out and hopefully the sleeve done if the stomach isn't too scarred. Please pray for me fellow WLS peeps. I'm not afraid of surgery but of recovery!! :s

I'm holding thoughts of you in my heart. You will do fine. Recovery is easy for most people so not worth fretting about.

La Lily

recovery is/can be a scary thought :(

since you''ve already had the lapband - you know many things to expect after surgery,

you "might"/ or might NOT have some pain/gas et al

i was one of the many other sleevers that experienced minimal/if no pain post op :)

listen to your body :)

don't overdo!!!!

take things as slow or fast as you are able

walking is important

sip your Water alllll day long

if you have trouble drinking - try room temp Water :)

get plenty of rest :)

sweet dreams about sleeveland :)

you are on the right track to a healthier, happier, longer life :)

take care :)

good luck

fingers & toes crossed just for you :)

speedy recovery :)

kathy

Thanks ladies. I feel better than I did after the lap band. I've been up and walked. So far so good. Phew, what a day.

Glad to hear you are doing well! Im having my revision in May. Starting to get nervous, but am excited for the new journey.

Were they able to do the sleeve in the same surgery?

Yes we did it all in one shot. Had my test today and no leaks but my doc hasn't been to see me yet so it's been over 40 hours without food or Water. I have my IV but still. I'm getting pretty cranky.

Thats great they were sble to do it in one shot. Hopefully mine will be the same. I officially scheduled my surgery for May 19th today. Im nervous/anxious but am ready for this surgery.

Hopefully they'll let you have some Liquid Protein soon to subside the hunger.

Just approved for Water and they are sending some Clear Liquids. 44 long hours since my last meal or drink.

Good luck on your journey! Just remember the final goal, might be uncomfortable for a little while, but it will be worth it in the end.

UPDATE!! 6 days out. Stayed in the hospital 4 days. Still very tired and sore. Just trying to sleep and take it easy before I go home to my kids tomorrow. Having a hard time eating. Everything looks gross. lol. Not a fan of sugary stuff, liking Greek yogurt , cream of wheat, mashed potatoes with lots of milk. Down 9 lbs!!!

Definitely keep us posted of what you're eating the first few days out! I'm so curious. I'm so excited for my surgery, it's just so far away! Hope you're feeling better!

I am one week out. Still sore but not nearly as bad as days 1-3. On liquids still. Tried mint tea today. So yummy. Still eating oat bran, yogurt, Protein Shakes and Soup mostly. My family had a party yesterday and I ate the cheese and pizza sauce off a small slice. That way I didn't feel so deprived. I am down 10 lbs and I earned it. I have to keep reminding myself that I caused this pain and need it to get where I'm going. Chin up and keep on keeping on!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
