Anyone having surgery in May

Recommended Posts

It is very exciting but also understandably scary. For years now I have had to endure so many challenges. I was molested as a child (that's when I started getting a bit chubby) then my first husband was killed right before my very eyes and lastly I had severe post-partum depression. I have been working so so hard internally for many years. I have been blessed to be able go share my story and help others. Now it's time for the external me. When I think about it, one word comes to mind, RESTORATION. How about you guys?

Best of luck to all this weeks surgeries. Tomorrow I'll be 1 week post op. Feeling pretty good. It's so bizarre to only eat 2 oz at a sitting but that is all my new stomach allows. I still have incision pulling and a little pain but it's totally under control. Good luck to this weeks group.

You folks that have to be at the hospital early are sooooo lucky. My surgery isn't until 2:00 on Tuesday! I'm going to be going crazy.

Hi Patticakes :) my surgeon is Dr Harnish at Ft Sam Houston Hospital. I've been on a liquid diet almost 2 full weeks, the day of surgery will be 2 weeks. I've been faithful and haven't cheated on the restrictions. I've dropped 15 # as of yesterday. It hasn't been easy, at times extremely difficult but I figured if I cheat on the diet, I cheat myself. How about you? Where are you from?

I like that word... Restoration :) I look forward to New Beginnings!! I'm going to be a grandmother the end of July and want to be around to see him grow up. We have some things in common.

Relax and enjoy you night with family. I had a Cathadetation so never was able to wear any of the stuff I brought to the hospital. I highly recommend Chapstick. My lips were so dry afterward. Good luck tomorrow.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
