bright yellow pee can be from the B Vitamins in your multi. dark yellow, strong smelling pee is a different story. that means you arent getting enough fluids.

i drink a lot of hot tea. my fav is chai, but i like green tea, some fruit teas, mint teas, earl grey, etc. i drink it with 1-2 tsp of honey and chai with milk. also try coconut Water. not the sweetened kind, just plain coconut water. its the perfect re-hydration Fluid. i also drink a glass of milk every day. try yogurt, fruit, veggies like cucumbers and peppers. all these things will help with your fluid total.

I try to start every morning with 2 cups of herbal tea. That gets me started for the day. If I sleep in, I find it's hard to make up the Water later in the day. Maybe start drinking earlier in your day?

I love tea too. I invested in a few good ones at Teavana right before surgery (last week). And it's been my favorite thing to drink. Comfort!

I LOVE peoples republic of tea's Orange ginger mint... either drink that or Water cut with g2 or poweraid zero. I have a pretty insulated cup/glass thing that holds wrong oz and my goal has been to drink 2 of those daily and anymore is bonus. In going to change my goal to 3... we'll see...

@@Ariella

"Try drinking through a straw"

check with your doc about that

some/many/most (my) docs says "no" to drinking with a straw

carbonation situation - no soda either

"food" for thought ;)

all docs are different about many things

the one thing we have in common is that we're all different :o

@@Seela

"pee twice, once in the morning and before bed."

hmmmmm - after drinking so much liquid, that is weird to me also

maybe as OP said "some people need MORE Water??"

my urine is also yellow  and i drink plenty

Vitamins can help make urine yellow???

if thats true, that kindof makes me feel better

you are losing weight , so thats good

you said you can't drink anymore???

maybe you just gotta give it the ol' college try ;)

do your best

sounds like everything else is going well

you don't have any health insurance for a couple of months :(

sorry about that

keep up the good job with the food plan/rules :)

not sure i answered your question, but i tried

(DH has told me i'm "very trying" (he's only kidding, I think  ;) )

good luck

best wishes

Your posts always make me smile! I went rogue months ago and started using a straw... great decision. I an an ex diet Pepsi- acolic so no soda for me ever. I'm really trying harder to push the fluids but now I'm not getting enough calories because I'm always full of water... Geesh! I guess I'll figure all this out eventually. Thanks

I start immediately with Water. Drink drink drink and repeat! Lol. It's tedious but I manage 4-5 bottles a day. My doc said no straws but I found myself doing it out of habit and doesn't bother me at all. I've definitely noticed it's easier to get my water in since then. Good luck!

I had a Chiropractor tell me once that you should drink 24 oz for every 50 pounds you weigh. Dunno if that's true, but it sure is a lot more than 48-64 ounces for me! I am 3 months out & for sure dehydrated, affecting my bms even, so I feel your pain. I try to add coconut Water as it's supposed to be more hydrating than just plain Water. My biggest issue is water just doesn't taste good anymore. I used to be a big water drinker, but now it's hard to get down, even with the flavor packets added. I keep thinking I would drink more if I used a straw, but not willing to try that as I'm afraid of the pain I will likely get from too much air in my system.

I agree with the others though, you should try to call your Dr who did your surgery & at least talk to a nurse for advice.

24 oz for every 50 lbs... That's.... Um... A gallon plus a pint for me (144 oz). HAHAHAH I'm gonna have to get one of those beer-bong hats with water bottles in it, maybe I could get by with 128 oz (2 half-gallons)?? LOLOL that's assuming I'm a flat 300 lbs (I'm actually about 320 so that's another 12 oz water...)

I'm lucky to get 44, let alone 144.... Maybe that metric doesn't adhere to a linear scale... ;)

Update... so I have been really pushing the Water HARD this week, which is making it much harder to eat, but I'm getting in 9 glasses (72oz) approximately plus a Protein Drink. And instead of only going pee one in the am and once at night I have added one more in the afternoon. .. I know tmi... so, I guess the trick is to find balance. Fyi I started using a straw months ago and that dramatically increase my intake and I actually have less burping and gas using a straw. Thanks for your help everyone!

On my discharge information form it said to make sure you pass urine at least 4 times in 24 hours. Definitely agree with CrazyJany, you can end up with Acute Renal Failure if you don't have enough fluids passing through. You will need to keep sip sip sipping away. I get that it is hard - it takes me a few hours to get down my Breakfast and it is frustrating, but just keep working at it.

Well, for me, it seems im constantly stuffing something into my mouth every minute of the day. Im fact, i have to set a timer after eating otherwise i forget to drink.

I have hypoglycemia and between that and the Water thing..im literally always ingesting something.

Its annoying but i'll take it over being extremely obese any day of the week.

I know you mentioned that you don't have any health insurance. However, your post-op care should have been covered by your surgeon's initial billing and I think you're still consided to be a post-op patient. Do you have a contact person for your Bariatric program? If so, give them a call and tell them what's going on. It won't hurt to at least give them a call.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
