June 27th for me!!

June 18 here. So, two days out and feeling okay. I'm learning (by trial and error) to slip S-L-O-W-L-Y, and when I get it wrong I get a quick education.

I'm feeling emotionally like I'm on my way to the finish line. For the first time, I think I've got a chance to be beautiful. Just once in my life I'd like that.

I'm walking some--tomorrow I'll try to go further and faster.

One real downer: I have a headache. Not a big hairy scary headache, but enough. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm thinking it's just getting off caffeine and sugar cold turkey. I'm two days into this headache.

Congrats, everybody!

No problem. Glad you are home. Sounds like your husband and sons are taking really good care of you. I remember when I finally passed gas, it was a major relief. Good to hear that you are tolerating the Protein Shake. Just remember, go slow, especially when starting new foods. Also, I've learned definitely do not eat and drink at same time especially with starting soft foods. You really want about 30 minutes between drinking and eating. Will check in with you tomorrow.

thanks for the tips Sarah.
You're welcome Stacie. I'm here if you need anything. We are all in this together. It's really nice to have the support. Keep me updated. And I will keep you updated as well.

Does anyone's doctors want you to have a certain calorie intake on the pre-op diet? Mine wants me to have between 700-900 and I'm having such a hard time. I'm doing pretty well with Protein intake...I'm just so ready for the next week to fly by!

bummer on the headache. Are you taking any pain medicine still. Maybe that will help. It can be from no caffeine etc and should hopefully pass soon. I just tried some cream of broccoli Soup and did good. So far no issues with anything and not really feeling hungry so that is a good thing. I'm also adding more to my walking each day.

I have suffered from to things that I did not expect. One .... Hiccups. Two.... Headaches. I never did much caffeine so can't blame on that. Hiccups are letting up since I am post op day 4. But the headaches continue... I believe is is because I am used to sleeping on my tummy and now am forced to sleep on my back. Last night was a bit better. I was able to sleep more on my side instead of my back. Did not wake up with a headache. I am hopeful the headaches will not be a common problem for me. We are very limited in what medicine we can take to alleviate them. Oh and number three..... I am starved!!! Still trying to cope with liquids but had to add Protein Drinks to get me past the hunger. OMG will those refried Beans and oatmeal and cottage cheese taste good when my time comes to move to stage 2.

I'm two days away from surgery date, start tomorrow on Clear Liquids. Been drinking only shakes for one week and putting a teaspoon of sugar free pudding to thicken it up for a different taste. This week with the shakes only been losing 1 to 2 pounds a day. Scared of the pain afterwards that everyone talks about. But excited for the outcome of all. Getting this surgery cause when my mom was in hospital this last time and doctor said she would not of had such bad health issues if she had not carried around 100 lbs extra her whole life. That made my decision. I don't think of myself fat but a healthy stocky person. But when I'm already having issues like mom I then scheduled appt.

I had headaches/migraines for three days after kicking soda to the curb. I went from 2-3 diet cokes a day to 0 so my body was pretty confused. That was two weeks before surgery though.

I'm 20 days post-op and still get headaches sometimes but it is because I'm not drinking enough Water. Little sips throughout the day are hard for me to remember. I'm so used to just chugging a big glass whenever I get feel thirsty.

Hi there....my first check in here though I've posted elsewhere.

Sleeved on 6/17 and doing much better than I expected I would be. Pain is nill and no painkillers since the afternoon of 6/18. Trying to stay active with walking the first few days and hopped on my bike for a 10 mile ride today. Want to get metabolism going!

Diet is.yogurt, cottage cheese, protein shakes, and homemade broth. Trying to get at least 60 grams of Protein. Liquids are Water, G2, and diluted apple juice. Might try some puréed food today and have been checking out recipes.< br />
Wish I would have fpund this board pre-op...lots of great people and support here!

Cheers!

Hello! I am so happy for you that you are deciding this now. I am 62 and I was doing great until a year ago. Then, it was like flipping a switch and my activity level just deteriorated. I am having the surgery on Wednesday. Which I had done it before I wasn't a "well functioning" overweight person. God Speed.

I was sleeved June 19th and haven't really been hungry until today! I'm on clear liquids until Wednesday, I can't stand the Isopure drinks so I know my Protein is low. What else can I have? Today is the first day of headaches too. I feel really weak....

Today had been a real struggle with my Protein Shakes. I got some sample Unjury powder so will try that next. I had 3 different brands if pre made shakes and I almost lost it trying to get it down. Otherwise food wise I'm doing good. I tired to do a little more around the house with my 3 year old today and I'm paying the price actually had to take some pain meds.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
