Any May 2014 sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow will be 1 week post op. VSG on the 14th. I'm still not doing great. Physically my body feels fine, but I am unable to get my Protein in and enough fluids even though I was advanced to full liquids. I am weak and lightheaded. I'm unable to so my required walking as well, had to rest after walking to the mailbox. I am scheduled to return to work tomorrow but don't know how I'm going to manage. Feel like I'm failing already even though I am 19 lbs down.

I just ate some puréed spaghetti sauce with deer meat. About an oz. No noodles. Feels fine so far.

I'm going to do that with ground turkey, yummmm

Hi all, 5 days post op. Feeling very fatigued. I have very bad gas pains that shoot towards my chest. I can drink really well now but on small amounts. It was taking me day1 5 hours to drink 8 ounces of Water. Yesterday I almost finished in 1 hour. I have absolutely no appetite. I just drink to stay hydrated. Had 3 incisions 1 really itches. Not too much pain. I haven't had pain meds since Friday. I'll b so glad when I'm 1 month out hopefully by then I'll have some energy. Good luck guys. Can't wait to see some pics In a couple of months. I haven't weighed myself since the day of surgery -17lbs.

Had my sleeve 5/1. Sooo good to get some updates from y'all. Been thinking about my fellow May sleevers!

I'm doing pretty good. I feel great and eating pretty much anything (dr approved stuff), haven't had problems with what I eat. It's hard getting in all the Vitamins, and Protein, and Fluid, and "waiting 30 before and after and not during." Lol. It's a juggle.

I'm down 40 lbs though and so worth it! I hope that's a good loss!

I haven't had to take metformin since day of surgery and blood pressure has come down to well into normal range.

I'm still waiting for all this energy they say I should have. Don't get me wrong...I feel good. And I track my calories, protein, fluids, etc.. but I don't have this busting energy. :/

Hi May sleevers, I had my surgery on the 15th and am doing pretty good. I don't have that much energy, I miss coffee! I have to take a nap most mornings. I can eat about a half cup of food at a time and learned the sign of when to stop. I feel a low level burping feeling the minute that I have to stop, I tried the last couple of bites and its uncomfortable. I am having a terrible time drinking the Water, its lucky if I get 4 cups a day, its a real challenge. My greatest help is from a free App on my iPhone, its called Lose It and it keeps track of all the food I eat with Protein, carb and fat. All you do is scan the upc code for almost all the food. At the end of the week, you can print a report that you can bring to your nutritionist appointments. I just love it, nothing enter my lips without me entering the data. I just love technology, you can even get a scale that will, through bluetooth, enter you weight, BMI and hydration to the app. It makes keeping track so easy. Good luck to all!

My surgery was 5/5/2014 and I'm doing pretty good.

I'm working out regularly and I've dumped over 30lbs. Eating is hard due to the gas and immediate full feeling but it's getting better. I've gone down from 22/24 to 14/16 and I am glad I have lost my butt lol. Everything is coming along nicely. I'm able to drink as much Water as I want as long as it's cold. The only Protein Shake that I'm able to tolerate is the premier due to the artificial sweetener but they are good so it's ok.

I'm very happy that all the initial crap is done cause at certain points I was miserable.

It's gets better guys it really does.

My wife and I both got sleeved on 5/29 with Dr. Garcia in Tijuana. We have both lost around 30lbs. We are able to eat almost anything except dense meats (pork chops/steak/dry chicken). But we mostly eat greek yogurt/grilled chix breast/protein shakes. Neither of us can eat more than a cup of food at a time, usually half a cup or less.

We are going to start our gym membership next week.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
