Thanks Mini....congrats on your NSV!! I too have had that feeling of being so excited about fitting into something and not liking it so much anymore but....hey it fits, thats all that counts!

I was happy to make my half way mark but yesterday I had salad, pizza, a couple of chips and a chocolate cookie....YIKES!!!!

Back to being good today! I will not weigh in, it may be a little too scary.

Metal band, Notice you said a couple of chocolate chips and "a" cookie. Remember when it would be a couple of handfuls of chips and a couple of rows of cookies! Now today your back on track. That was almost impossible before. You are doing great!

Tee Hee, I am so excited and feel so good again that I can hardly contain myself!

mini - I can totally relate to the tightness of your band. I am scheduled for another fill the Monday after Thanksgiving but there is no way I can be any tighter. I to PB after the first couple of bites and then can come back to the table and get the rest down. I have found that if I have some hot tea first, it really helps loosen the band so the food will go down. I always do it if I am out with friends and family, saves a trip to the bathroom to clear the pipes. The thing you really need to be careful of is getting enough nutrition down. My body thought I was starving it, which I probably was, so it just refused to drop any more weight. I started drinking two Protein Shakes and drinking the hot tea so I could eat more and it finally starting to move again, very slowly. Good luck with it. . . .

Mini....you are so right about the handfuls of chips and the rows of cookies!! I just don't want to head back down that slippery slope!

Wenjea.....I have been drinking the hot tea also. I am not sure if it works but I have not barfed in 3 days. It gets so bad that I feel like there isn't restriction if I did not puke today. Not good!

Metal band - When I was PBing everything I was thinking how easy it would be to become a bulimic. I drug out all my old Weight Watchers stuff to make sure I was eating enough and I wasn't even close. When eating is such a hassle it is just easier not to eat and my frame of mind was going there and the scale wasn't moving at all for weeks so I got my act together and things are doing better again.

Wenjea, So your at 26 cc wonder how much he will give you this time. Prob to about 3 or 3.25 just where I am. It really gets tight here..really really tight. about the bulemic thing..if I am honest and admit that the first several months I would have this sort of sick satisfaction when I pb's because I new it was calories lost. Now after the six month mark, most stuff I eat is healthy and I need the nutrician and I am always praying it will stay down! The warm tea does help, so does really cold stuff. I like to drink a can of low sodium v-8 before lunch because it is a serving of vegetable. I drink the Protein Shakes but they are so good that they feel like cheating to me. I always want another so I have to limit my use of them to like one or two every other day or so. I'm not sure how many calories I'm consuming each day but I know it's around 900-1200. I think I'm doing pretty good nutricianlly. Thank goodness. I think we are all doing great!

Sandra, havn't heard from you. How are you doing?

Way to go Ragdoll, I bet you are at Onderland right now!!

Cindy

Not yet. I REALLY want to make it by Thanksgiving. My scale stays the same for several days and then 3 or 4 days in a row will go down. I so badly want to be able to tell my family I went from 261 to 199. Dont get me wrong 202 is still VERY good there is just something about being able to see a 1 on the first of those numbers that I have not seen in MANY years that will make me feel amazing. I am still trying to think of a way to reward myself when that happens. Pre-band food would have been a reward, now that just doesnt sound appealing at all. Maybe I will get another tattoo

hey everyone, is anyone else struggling with the holiday munchies and goodies that are everywhere? I am letting sugar slip back into my diet and am feeling very guilty for it. I was at costco and they were serving brownies . . . yum. It was in my mouth before I knew it! Followed by guilt. . .

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
