Wow, I am totally eating too much. I am on mushies but I ate 2 meatballs and a piece of toast for dinner and a whole can of chicken with rice Soup for lunch and yoghurt. I don't feel any restriction but I do eat all that. Is that really bad?

Yup....I think anytime you eat a whole can of soup is too much....whether you are post op or well after your surgery!

Susan,

I am experiencing severe hunger pain and feeling derpived as well. I tried boost, which was tolerable (but one small 237 ml bottle has 667 calories). I also had Soup, Water, and popsicle. Each time I had something, the hunger pain went away but only for a short time. I tried ignoring the pain 50% of the time and responding to it the other 50% of the time. In the past 3 days, I have not lost any weight.

As a whole, I feel that I am recovering very well but like you and others, I am adjusting to the new diet, hunger pain, concerns about what woukld be, and so on.

As a whole, I feel that I am recovering very well but like you and others, I am adjusting to the new diet, hunger pain, concerns about what woukld be, and so on.

I woke up with a new resolve today. I am drinking tons of Water to help with the hunger and ignoring them as much as possible. I keep telling myself that it is necessary for healing and that it is only 6 weeks, not my entire life! I also decided that I would look at this as a short term "diet" and use this time to begin an exercise program toward a goal. I am thinking about starting a new hobby (or rather taking up an old one again). I am hoping that keeping as busy as possible will help. If you are feeling better how about some light spring cleaning?

We are in this together and need to come together for support. I am here for you as you are for me. Feel free to PM me if you'd rather.

Had my first decent walk today in a long time. I little over an hour, but at a slower pace because Kayko the curious has to stop all the time. I feel good about it though - I am on my way.

I feel like I walked through thr ring of fire this past weekend.

Friday: an office wide "Breakfast Tour" to Celebrate our successful fiscal. There were different Breakfast foods in each of the meeting rooms and the conference room with some of the most incredible smells ever. I got through it.

Saturday: lunch with my inlaws for mother's day at a Chinese Buffet - I had small portions of broths. Told my inlaws the truth. Went home and ate an entire container (500 ml) of Haagen Daaz 97% ff yogurt smoothie. That did not go so well.

Sunday: dinner at my sisters - lots of fabulous and healthy homemade food, salmon, salads... not even on mushies yet so I had my 3/4 Tomato Soup. Was starving when I got home so had 1/2 c. veggie juice - better than saturday.

I was happy to see that I was down on the scale at least this week. Helps to deal with these moments. I keep teeling myself that it is only food and that there will be food again....

I could not stomach the thought of crushing my meds again this morning, so since I have no trouble swallowing, I took the with Water. I am happy to report no problems.

3 more days until mushies!!!!

Thanks Mandi. My goodness your ticker is dropping like flies! I guess that CC&Y got you started. Do you work out every day?

nope, nope, it wasn't the CC&Y that did it... I credit the latest fill. I haven't been feelin' the greatest lately, and using that as an excuse to not got to the gym for the last week or so. But I was back at it today... if I keep doing what I say I'm gonna do, I'll be going 3 times a week (1.5 hrs, about).

I am having such a hard time and truthfully I did not expect this. I feel so ashamed of myself. Not only are my portions over the 1/4 c. measures, I have on occasion eaten bread, a couple of potatoes and some sliced deli meat. They say confession is good for the soul!

I have vowed to stick to my 1/4 c mushies until the end of this period, but I am seriously doubting myself right now. Do you think I have done some damage??

:help:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
