Any Successful Approvals with GEHA or Healthlink?

Recommended Posts

Hey!! I got approved!!! I also have to pay up to 5,000 as my out of pocket in network max. Worth it though. Ended up getting a 0% for 12 month credit card through my bank. It was better than Medloan. They wanted 10% up front. For nothing. Anyway my date is July 14th!!! So excited!!

Great your under 200 now!! Well I'm starting at 324 was my last doctors appt. I have a LONGGGGGGGG way to go. Every time I get on the scale different nurses are surprised I way that I weigh that much...I guess i don't look like it, but no one has said anything about billing yet. I have my funds ready but I'm shocked I have not gotten anything yet , I go to pre op class and final weigh in this coming Wednesday and pre op testing, 2 appts in one day trying to move things along I'm getting anxious now.

One of my surgeon's nurses said "you don't need this surgery" when I went to my last visit before surgery. I didn't look like I weighed 227, I wore a size 18. Now that I'm 192, I'm in a 14. Received a bill from GEHA last week and it was for my last visit with my PCP, called them as I had paid my co-pay and they said "we only pay the first visit with your PCP". Well the bill was for my last visit and they had paid all the others. I just called the doctor's office and advised them to put it against the $4923 I paid them. I don't think many of the bills have come through yet, I really think I'll get some of that $4,923 back. Good luck, I know you'll do awesome. You really won't be hungry at all, it is amazing. My nutritionist told me last week, that the closer I get to my goal, the harder it will be to get the weight off.

That's pretty much my experience so far.

I am all approved. I have my surgery in two weeks.

I will owe the surgeon $450, and the hospital $4750... This will be my out of pocket. But doesn't include what I paid for the psychology, and the workups and stuff. But after my deductible was met, my workups and stuff are a lot cheaper.

That's one thing to think about. Find out the fiscal year of the surgery, and have everything done at the beginning, so you can take advantage of the met deductible to save some money.

I'm in Miss...

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
