I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op. I've been nauseated on and off all day. I just spit up a few bites of food I ate. This is the first time I've done this since surgery. What should I do? How long do I wait till I eat or drink again? I've got a burning pain like I'm hungry too.

this will happen from time to time. It`s nothing to worry about unless it becomes very frequent. You can eat again if you`re hungry but it probably happened because you ate too much or too quickly in the first place. I know the portions look tiny it needs some getting used to.

Burning pain, mixed with hunger - could be excess acid. Take a PPI.

As for eating - I can't see why, after you've replaced some of your fluids and you've relaxed a bit, you can't eat something very smooth like soup? As long as you stay away from the really lumpy stuff and have it little and often, you should be fine.

Best to avoid regular up=chucking.
