I'm so sorry Carrie. Either way it is awful. I hope you are able to get the unemployment.

Thanks. I was upset at first, but I'm ok now. I am starting nursing school in a few weeks, so everything will work out.

Dang, I hate to hear that you lost your job. My wife is a nurse and she can work as much as she wants to - the program was tough at Dalton State, but she is well trained.

I have an adjustment today. It is my fourth and I hope they get aggressive with this one. I am ready to lose some weight but I don't feel like the band is helping me enough yet.

What??? :eek:You have lost 61 lbs and the band isn't helping you! Baby the band is just a tool, you still gotta do the work. It sounds as if you are doing great. Don't risk getting yourself too tight, that can actually slow you down and can lead to slippage.

Sorry about the job loss, but you will probably be better off without the stress because nursing school is major stressful and you need to just get your breath and get ready to rumble!

I know it just a tool. I don't expect anything else. I just want the tool to be sharper:smile:. Most of my 61 lbs came with the pre op diet and the first month and a half after the surgery. Since that time it has been a struggle.

It gets better. I will admit that I have had 8 or 9 fills since September to get to the point where I am not startving all of the time, but I did get here. I just takes time (unfortunately). It just takes more fill for some people. One thing is for sure, they will let you come back for another fill as often as you need one you are past the 3 months after surgery. Give this new fill a week or so, if it isn't doing the job, get another one. Good luck!

I had the exploratory surgery yesterday. I had endometriosis, a uterine fibroid, and 2 large cysts on my left ovary. The doctor said he took care of everything. I am in a lot of pain though.

Well CMEX I don't have a clue how much you lost before but if you lost 20 before surgery then that would be 40 lbs in 3 months. That is terrific! Average is 1-2 lbs per week. I do know a fill will help but don't get too anxious. Your doing fine.

I hope you feel better soon. Unfortunately, I figured the pain would be pretty bad. Make sure to stay on top of your pain medicine. It is easier to control the pain than it is to stop it once it has a hold on you. Keep us posted.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
