I'm eating about 600-800 calories a day and exercising 4-5 days a week for an hour. Combination of strength and cardio. I'm a lightweight so I'm only losing about 2-3lbs a week...12-15 since surgery but I'm losing steadily and exercise helps. I eat a variety of foods at this stage including meat and have no problems. I eat mainly all Protein and about 1/4 cup or 2oz per meal.

2-3 lbs a week is great. For a couple of weeks I only lost 1 lb. and one week I lost nothing. I just really started doing more exercising. Before I was only walking for about 30 mins twice a week. Now I'm doing step aerobics about 3 times a week. I'm trying to do more but find it hard to get it in. I admire you for exercising so much. As far as eating goes. I eat eggs, yogurt, cheese, chicken, and my Protein Drinks. and that pretty much seems like all I eat everyday. I need to look up some recipes or something. I just don't feel like cooking me anything since I only eat a small amount of it. I am also struggling to get in my Water. I only drink a total of about 30 ozs a day and that includes a 20 oz Protein Drink. I don't seem to like the taste of water anymore.

Me too! Me and Water aren't the best of friends now. I get in all my Protein from food but struggle with water. I have a Pinterest board called low carb recipes. It has been a godsend. You can follow me www.pinterest.com/rashanawright

Ok. I just followed you. I will definitely look into some of the recipes before I burn myself out on dairy. Lol. I saw that you are into essential oils. I recently started using oils for my kids.

Yes we use essential oils for everything! I even used them to help me recover post op. I put some anti-inflammatory oils in my Water in the hospital to help ease the stomach inflammation so I could get my liquids down. I had really tight restriction.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
