  1. Yes we use essential oils for everything! I even used them to help me recover post op. I put some anti-inflammatory oils in my water in the hospital to help ease the stomach inflammation so I could get my liquids down. I had really tight restriction.
  2. Me too! Me and water aren't the best of friends now. I get in all my protein from food but struggle with water. I have a Pinterest board called low carb recipes. It has been a godsend. You can follow me www.pinterest.com/rashanawright
  3. I'm eating about 600-800 calories a day and exercising 4-5 days a week for an hour. Combination of strength and cardio. I'm a lightweight so I'm only losing about 2-3lbs a week...12-15 since surgery but I'm losing steadily and exercise helps. I eat a variety of foods at this stage including meat and have no problems. I eat mainly all protein and about 1/4 cup or 2oz per meal.
  4. That's great. I get to start on soft foods Friday and I can't wait. Been on all liquids for 3 weeks now including the 2 weeks pre op. I am over it! Lol. All my incisions have healed over except that main one where they took the stomach out of. It's been oozing for a few days.

  6. Hey ladies. Everything went great yesterday. No gas pains but it feels like I did one too many crunches. Today I do the leak test and start on liquids! I ended up started my period just like I thought but it was AFTER surgery and not before. So praise God.

  8. I know it's all so exciting isn't it?? Please pray for me. I'll more than likely be on my period during surgery which is bummer but I can deal with that....but my daughter just came down with strep throat so I'm praying I don't come down with it or you know they'll cancel surgery!
  9. Are you all ready for your surgery tomorrow??

  11. It's a roller coaster ride. Some days I'm ok others I want to kick someone. Today was a good day. How about you?
  12. Congrats! You're almost there! Good luck to you! You are blessed to only have to do three days!
  13. Congrats!! Do let us know when you get your date!

  16. I would kill to only have to do 7 days lol. I'm doing ok actually. The hardest part is cooking for the kids and I can't eat. I have to do 5 shakes a day. And I can only do clear broths, sf jello, sf pops, decaf tea. The 5 shakes of protein do keep me satisfied for about 2-3 hrs.
  17. Congrats! Are you on your liquid diet yet? I'm on day 2 and I will say it's rough! Lol but so far so good. Praying for strength for the remaining 12 days. I have to remind myself this is a lifestyle change and I'm preparing now for it. If I can't handle this how will I be able to manage my new stomach. So it's training as well as surgery prep for me.

  21. Yea I started the process on Jan 2. My date was originally 3/27 but they changed it due to a conflict. I have locs in my hair so thank goodness I don't have to worry about that. The anxiety is kicking in the closer it gets. I start my 2 week liquid diet on 3/21.
