Vomiting and diarrhea , no fever or pain

Recommended Posts

Possibly just a stomach bug? I have no pains just on and off vomiting and diarrhea since about 2am. Managed to get some fluids and 1 and a half shakes in so far. 13 days out still on all shakes . I do have aunt flow pretty bad and maybe it's that??

If you are still feeling like that tomorrow, you should call your doctor (if you can't reach them today)...just to be sure that you aren't dehydrated or something... they may want to be sure...plus vomiting so close out is so not good for your tummy... hope you feel better soon.

Take care!

Probably Norovirus.

Good news is Noro is about 24 hrs and then done, but it can take 3 days for a healthy person to get back to normal Fluid levels...

I'm doing the diarrhea thing now (well actually my doc ok'd me for an Imodium pill and that's helped a ton!) .... When I was 1 week postop my kid was throwing up, and again at 3 weeks postop so it was pretty much inevitable that I'd get it. She's a toddler and goes to daycare - it's like a bioweapons testing facility, for serious.

Call your doc and notify - this soon after surgery they may want to check you out... Or do you have an appointment tomorrow? If I had been sick in my first 2 weeks they'd have had me on an IV right away, after ONE bout of either diarrhea or vomiting. Since now it's "just" diarrhea and I am well into my 4th week, it's a little different.... The nurse called me back and said to take one Imodium and call in the morning if I was still having problems.

I've been majorly nauseated all day but I've managed to not puke (YAY!) but BOY did I want to a few times...

Hang in there!!

I had that for about a week last month!
I was like what the hell is this I don’t feel sick!
I didn’t try to eat much just some Soup drink my tea and shakes even if I was puking them up right after I just kept drinking them as I thought well some of it would absorb and I don’t want to be dehydrated!
It also might be why I lost 11lbs in feb lol

At 13 days out, I would be going to the emergency room to be checked in...if you are vomiting w/diarrhea, you are in fact dehydrated as your body is unable to replenish Fluid intake. Just because you do not have any of the other symptoms does not mean that you are not dehydrated. please be checked out, chances are you will need iv fluids for a day. fell better soon

I spent all day Friday at the hospital getting tests and Iv fluids. They found nothing wrong and sent me home nice and hydrated. Doc said if I'm feeling like I can't get in the fluids to just come back every few days for an Iv if needed. But I was able to drink okay on Saturday! Still diarrhea but no more vomit thankfully!! I was able to progress to stage 2 and have some yogurt and a scrambled egg over the weekend. Just had some puréed Soup for dinner I'm so excited to "chew" again and not just drink from a cup :)

If you're having a specific viral diarrhea and your doc OKs it, then yes.... But not all diarrhea is the same - if you might have food poisoning for instance, Imodium isn't a good plan.

Definitely check with your doc first!!! I didn't go for about 48 hours, then finally am back on track.

Elfnow is right. My recurring diarrhea is from a Clostridial infection and the last thing I should take is Imodium. This particular bug produces toxins that need to come out, not sit around in my colon. And there's only one way out :{

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
