Marchies In April

I have to agree. I have been walking 1.5 miles a day and the pounds have been dropping off. The key is exercise. As much as I don't want to do it I know that its a MUST if I want to see the pounds come off quicker.

Okay, I'll go plug in the treadmill!

I'd love to be walking or bike riding outside, but here in Northern Michigan it snowed last th/fri and saturday! My poor day lilies and tulips, they were already 4 inches high and now are covered in 2 feet of snow!

"I vow this evening to get on my treadmill and walk at least 1 mile.

Cross my heart"

Good for you Mary! You'll see that once you see the pounds drop off you'll want to actually WANT to work out. Strange, but its true.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

So, I get it... EXERCISE, how come its so hard to do and so easy at the same time? Just to go outside and walk should be a piece of cake. (Which I would rather have...the cake) I have a few weeks before my ist fill and I need to get my but in gear... I WILL WALK THIS AFTERNOON. i HAVE TO.

Hey Bobbi! you and I were banded on the same day! I didn't want to belive exercise was the key, but after walking 1.5 miles on Sat and Sun, I actually lost another pound! And I've been trying to use the stairs more often too. Every little bit helps. Before we know it we'll be looking good! :)

I get my fill a week from tomorrow (April 16th) - Tammy, you have yours tomorrow, right?

I dreamt last night that I forgot to go for my fill, and then forgot to fast before my fill and on and on. I think it's weighing on my mind.

YESSSSSS, my first fill is today at 4:45pm!!! :omg: I hope everything goes well. I have to go back on liquids for a couple days so I went and bought more Protein Powder and Soup at Hands. I don't have to fast before my fill. I just called my surgeon's office to make sure and they told me to eat normally. Just curious...Is anyone else told to eat normally before their fill or am I the only one? :)

I hope everyone is doing well! I will check back later to let you all know how my first fill went.

Hi. I'm a Marchie too. I was banded on March 22nd. I'm 18 days post op and feel better with everyday that passes. I finally got to start eating foods again on Friday. It has been awesome to add fish, eggs, and potatoes to my diet.

However, I have had a soar in my mouth since I got home from surgery. It's almost like they nicked my gums with the breathing tube during surgery. Anyway, my teeth right about the soar have been hurting for 4 days now. I'm going to the dentist today, but just wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

TammyJ - that's great. Let us know how your fill went. I had my band put in on 3/12 and I don't get my fill until May 22nd. I have the VG band which holds up to 11 cc's of saline. Which one do you have?

After 12 days, 16.5 lbs, and a belt notch, I'm feeling good. :bandit

I got a little cocky last night and took a few bites of pizza that made me PB for the first time, but other than that I'm a good little bandit. :)

I've been a member of LBT since I started looking into the band....I laid low for months while I went through the very long process of getting banded...14 mos.

But I was banded March 8th!

I don't get a fill until May 8th. Needless to say my appetite is normal and I feel little restriction. I'm doing good at using my will power to not over eat, but I can't wait for the fill.

Nice to see the group or Marchies or Marchers...

Happy to be in your company.:)

Well Gals and Guys,

I guess we are truly in bandster hell till we get a good fill.

We have all lost, I say we can do this! Let's all support each other through this time.:clap2:

One huge advantage we have is that it is spring, we have daylight longer, and hopefully the weather will break here in the midwest and we can walk, walk, walk.

We are now done with matzah and chocolate bunnies, YAHOO!

Momlambert and Dem, seems like 2/3 - 1 cup is were we kinda want to fall for food. I think this is doable, it has to be.

Ok, I feel better.

Good luck to everyone for a successful week of big losers.

Toodles,

well, i just ate 3 oz tuna with mayo and about 1/2c cheesey potatoes. that's about the size meal i eat for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually coffee and yogurt. lunch is usually Soup and cottage cheese.< /p>

i'm getting rather hungry these days. can't wait until a fill. and it sucks i see my surgeon about 4 times a week at work (also sucks when he's eating candy in front of me! :)) and can't get one sooner.

oh well!

i have the rest of my life to get this weight off since i've probably prolonged it by 20+ years now!

Breakfast is usually 1/4 c. egg beaters, 1 c. juice and some Decaf coffee.< /p>

Mid morning snack was a sugar free creamsicle

lunch today was a 1/2 c. cottage cheese with unsweetened apple sauce and a fat free tapioca pudding cup.

dinner was 1 cup cream of broccoli Soup, 1/4 c. rice with 1 tbsp Promise Lite margerine and a Sugar Free Chocolate pudding cup

And a Protein Shake for an evening snack.

Of course, I sipped Water and Crystal Light in between, and worked out for about 40 minutes earlier this evening. And no, I am not hungry.:clap2:

Hi Marchies,

I'm proud to report I actually went for a walk tonight! Finally enough snow has melted to get outside. I only went for 20 minutes - I know I will need to kick it up a notch if I want the lbs to come off.:)

Marg,

20 minutes is 20 minutes. Good for you. I started walking daily the day I got home from surgery. I feel so much better when I walk. If it is too cold outside, I try my elipitcal (sp), that sucks, my legs are on fire by .5 miles. I don't think I have lost anything this week, I will know for sure in the morning when I do "MY" official weigh in.

Well, week three and still sitting at 199. I know that this time is for healing, but it would be nice to see some more weight loss. I plan on walking more and hoping to get my exercise area set up soon so I can add Sweating to the Oldies (I love Richard!!!).

I started taking my Lipator and Chlorathaldone again this morning. The Lipator I think I felt on its way down, but the Chlorathaldone is small so it was easy. Also started this new med to help prevent gall stones. I have to cut it open and sprinkle it on some cottage cheese, YUCK!! I think I will try it with applesause tomorrow.

Well, have a great week everyone.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
