Pain returned after 5 weeks

Recommended Posts

I had Sleeve surgery on 2/4. Everything has been going beautifully. No complications. Suddenly, I started having pain at my large incision site and went the the ER. They did an CAT scan, Chest xray and checked for blood clots, did blood work and urine and found nothing. They said there is some inflammation, but nothing to be worried about. Today, the pain is worse. HAs anyone experienced this? Could it be something more than inflammation? I'm debating going back tot he ER.

I would go back if you feel worse today. Just because they didn't find it the first time doesn't mean that there isn't something there. Best of luck to you!! Please let us know how you are doing.

ETA What does your surgeon say today? Have you contacted re: increased pain?

YES. That is what is happening to me although i have not had a day go by that I didn't have some discomfort or pain. So last week was awful my pain was so bad and my tummy was tender to touch. I went to the dr. yesterday. Everything is fine all my blood work and everything. She gave me a muscle relaxant to see if that will help the inflammation and relax the muscle enough to com you healing without an extreme amount of pain. She said I could have moved wrong or sat wrong, stretched wrong to cause the muscle more inflammation. My suggestion is to call your surgeon to try to get an appointment to see what she/he has to say.

Muscle inflammation. I did have a Heaton after surgery and am thinking that had something to do with it. Everything else has been going beautifully. No nausea no vomiting no hunger. Im 100% compliant and cautious. I did have my son on my back. But atnanmonth out, I thought I'd be fine.

Have them check to see if its not your gall bladder. Losing weight can cause gall stones and it can hurt in that area. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
