Thanks for the advice. That's good to know others didn't have a pre op diet. I had thought it was odd not to have one. I know I am going to be sooo tired of liquids come a few days after surgery :-) so I am just going to do low carb. I already am thinking in my head about food funerals I need to have! Lol.

I've been having "food funerals" all month. I've been thinking if I eat a bit of everything, I think, I will want/miss, that it won't be so bad when I "can't" have it. The strange thing that's been happening to be is I've burned out on my favorites. Nurse thinks its a good sign my mind is trying to get ready. Hope she's right!

I don't plan on giving up my favorite foods, I plan on following a simple high Protein low carb diet that will allow my favorites in very small portions.

That's a good plan. I am doing my funerals since I know its going to be at least a good six weeks before I can have them again. Unless I want to have them pureed, which at the moment doesn't sound appetitizing. :-) but doing a high protein low carb diet is what I plan on, too.

I agree with Janey, the first week is hell. I have had hysterectomy & gallbladder surgery neither came even close. I took the nausea meds every morning, even when I wasn't feeling it, I never wanted to get sick.

Please do something for me! I know as we get further in our recoveries, we will post here less & less. Would you please follow me on my blog, email or fb? I don't want to lose touch with my newfound friends & fellow March Sleevers! I started my blog when I got the LapBand, I have had weekly posts & weigh-ins since 2009. There are so many others on our path who share their advice & experiences with me. Do you have a support system in place? I would love to stay buddies!!

IV fluids from surgery are probably making you pee. Glad you're up and moving!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
