gaining weight

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I had my gastric sleeve surgery on May of 2012 and I lost 68lbs. My current weight is 212lbs. But I'm stuck with my weight now. I'm having very stressful moments in my life right now that I'm lost my priorities and the encouragement to reach my goals. I want to know how I can going back and started again. Please I really appreciate any suggestions. Sincerely.

Move back to step one, get back on liquids and Protein Drinks for a couple of weeks and then start following the diet. You'll start losing again. If you need some psychological encouragement, consider seeing a therapist to find out why you may have sabotaged yourself. It's never too late to get back on the program, all you need is to want it. Good luck.

And when you get back on the diet-- track, track, track your calories, Proteins, carbs, etc. I use My Fitness Pal. It helps keep me honest. Good luck! You can do this!

At that far out I'm not sure it would be wise to start back on liquids. Just get back to the basics and what you know. Protein first, 60-80g daily, Water and log everything. Watch your calories and protein and water and you know it will work. Good luck to you

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
