Hi all, I am three days post op and feeling great. I am still a little sore around my chest and tummy and incisions. I am doing great with Fluid intake. Probably because my husband stays on me lol. I found a 3.8 oz Protein Drink that has 42g of Protein in the whole thing. So I break it up and sip it though out the day on top of my Protein Shakes. I would say im getting about 50-60 grams a day. I had a hard time with nausea and found peppermint tea to help and the warm fluid feels alot better than cold. I walked alot yesterday going shopping with my family since my birthday is on Monday. I am surprised how amazing I feel. I have a hard time getting up and down but it has a lot to do with soreness and I haven't had a bowel movement yet but one step at a time. I weighed in on surgery day @ 232 and as of this morning I weigh 227...I am so excited for whats in store for me. I am so ready for a healthy me!!! Not going to lie though I would really like not to be on liquids anymore but I am following drs orders to the tee. I hope everyone is doing good. And congratulations on your new journey, I dont regret this for a second.

Sarah, your post op sounds like mine. I felt great after they took me off the morphine. I prepared for the worst though!

I am 8. 5 weeks. I am a slow and steady loser, not hitting any plateaus, and loving that aspect of slow loss! I only weigh once a week or less, it keeps my head in the game, instead of feeling frustrated. Keep up the great work!

Im using a liquid whey Protein that is packed with protein 42 grams In only 3.8 oz of liquid. I just drink a lil over an oz every few hours. They aren't expensive each vival is about $2.50 and I found them at Wal-Mart. They have two flavors that I know of acai berry and watermelon. I was gonna check GNC to see if they have them as well. And they are no fat, no sugar and no carbs.

Congrats!

Just wanna give a tiny bit of advice watch the bowel movement I’ve had a horror story like BAD and little minor not so bad ones all right at the start so take something to help I drank a glass of prune juice a day after my horror story to not have it ever happen again.

Its not uncommon 3 days out to not go then you do and its pretty much the runs because your all liquid all the time plus meds after that stage is the constipated stage a lot of us have horror stories you can read on the forums so plan ahead to not have one lol

Happy birthday for tomorrow!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
