I got pregnant 6 months after surgery, i was on BC and also have PCOS, so it was a surprise ( albeit a good one, previous to surgery we had tried for 4 years with no luck)! I am currently 24 weeks along, but i keep losing weight. I was 195 when i got pregnant and i'm now about 178. I keep losing weight, about a lb a month. I've increased my eating and added an extra Protein Shake into the mix for extra nutrition, but nothing seems to help. I am already forcing myself to eat more than what i'm comfortable with, but i'm still losing. My nutritionist doesn't think there is a problem, as i'm getting about 2,000 calories a day, but my doctor is starting to talk about putting me on high calorie shakes. Thus far baby is measuring just perfect and he's very active. I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and can offer any advice or ideas?

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice but I just wanted to say Congratulations!!! How exciting for you. I have had 3 children (I'm still pre-op, so obviously I was not sleeved when I had them) and I am a nurse so I have some thoughts. It seems to me that as long as you are getting adequate nutrition and fluids and your babe is growing well, there shouldn't be any problem. I had gestational diabetes with only my second pregnancy (out of three) and I actually lost weight as well because I was following such a strict diet. Personally, I don't think high calorie shakes are the answer...but who am I. Well good luck and again congrats. Keep us updated on this little miracle!!

If baby is healthy and you are healthy it shouldn't be a prpblem. My OB is doing extra ultrasounds and blood draws to make sure he is growing and not focusing on the number on the scale. I also reccomend for those having issues freaking cause you put a pound or two back... don't step on the scale anymore... have hubby hide them it works wonders for your mindset :-)

I'm not sure where you are at in your pregnancy but I know being plus sized and pregnant I lost weight up until my last trimester then would gain only 10 lbs or so. I would end up weighing 30-40 lbs less at my 6 week check up then before I got pregnant. You are eating enough calories so as long as the baby is healthy I wouldn't worry.

I'm with you! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. I had horrible morning sickness (I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum). I lost 13lbs during my first trimester and first part of my second. I was 150 (135 was my goal) when I got pregnant and bottomed out at 137. As of this morning I am at 142. My doctor isn't concerned since I am within normal weight range and not underweight and baby is growing beautifully. I'm definitely all belly though.

I got pregnant just a few weeks shy of a year out. I was not yet at goal weight, but I have lost 15lbs since I got pregnant. I'm 22w3d now (Due June 30) and the weight loss seems to have stopped.

The baby is measuring just fine and growing perfectly so my docs aren't concerned. Have you had the baby measured via ultrasounds? I'm sure it's fine!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
