I am having surgery next Friday the 21st in Mexico. I start my preop diet tomorrow and I am both nervous and excited for this journey. When ever I start to doubt this decision I think forward to the future and how happy I will be six months to a year from now. I am turning 40 this year and have a four year old son and a three month old daughter. I just try to remind myself that I want to be able to ski, hike, ride motorcycles etc. with my wife and kids in ten more years. With that being said, I still have a bit of doubt that I am making the right decision and that mostly comes down to selfish reasons like not being able to eat huge meals or socially drink much.
I would love to hear some positive comments on how this surgery has helped change your life. I even in encourage the negatives ones if you have any, I want to be fully informed before I get on that table.
